Atmosphere easily earns its 4/5; it’s the highlight of the visit. Service, however, was a letdown. Our server was scarce, appearing only every ten to twelve minutes with a harried look. Refills lagged, bread arrived cold, and the pacing felt chaotic. Two out of five at best. The three-course meal itself was the very definition of average. The Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer looked tempting but arrived rubbery and overcooked, drowned in a cloyingly sweet sauce that lacked any real heat. The garlic mashed potatoes were a gluey, under-seasoned disappointment—lukewarm and forgettable. My grilled Atlantic salmon with lemon butter was decently fresh but dry around the edges, with a thin, oily sauce that added little brightness. We ended on a middling note with the Key lime pie: tart filling undermined by a soggy crust served at that unfortunate lukewarm temperature. Bonefish isn’t terrible, but at these prices it’s simply not good enough. Pretty room, safe but uninspired food, and sluggish service add up to a three-star experience I wouldn’t rush back to.
