  I almost never post negative reviews, but I’ve been going to this Acme for a decade, and it’s really gone downhill recently. There’s no shortage of staff, but management seems to not know how to shift them to customer-facing tasks during peak hours. Easiest example is painfully long deli queues, but co-workers continue to work on pre-sliced bags rather than attending to the many customers already waiting to buy. Plus, usually only one checkout lane open, extremely awkward self-checkout area with no space to bag your groceries, spotty product availability… But I guess we put up with it because it has a convenient neighborhood location. Giving two stars instead of one, since the staff is seemingly working hard at what they’re told to do.

  Cathy (I think I got her name correct) in deli was so sweet and helpful! There was a sale on potato salad and the shelf was empty. Cathy stopped what she was doing and went looking for more of it. I walked out with a happy husband who loves his potato salad, thanks Cathy! All the other staff were smiling and kind, overall great location!

  Some folks that work there are racist and don't want to be bothered by blacks coming in and trying to get anything from deli area. Their conversations were too important, they just kept looking over at me, then turn and laugh it off continuing their conversations. Had to get a manger to get them to help and overheard a lady working their saying "oh I see why" . Guess because of the color of my skin, no other reason to ignore me.

  This store is getting worse by the second. Aside from them never having store brand bread, the only cheap bread, aside from them not carrying java chip ice cream any more, aside from the tagged sale almost never ringing up properly, they have recently implemented a AI security system and almost every time I go there it either locks the cart as your leaving through the only door to get in and out blocking literally everyone, it also stops you from paying at the self checkout making you wait for someone who hates their job and doesn't understand the system to come over and hit random buttons until it lets you pay. This happens constantly since it has been installed. The whole system has been a gross overreaction to people stealing inconveniencing everyone else. Today I bought some grilled chicken that made me sick and it might be the final straw to start going to the Giant down the street.

  Excellent trip to my ACME today (Marsh Rd, Delaware; Tues 10am). Not overly people-y this morning. Self checkouts were basically empty and workers there were especially attentive/helpful and kind. Got all my sale prices with help from lovely associate at the self-checkout. Clean store, well-stocked. Thanks very much, ACME!
