  The name fits the food since it was mostly sad. Old bay shrimp basket was ok; shrimp were good, fries were ok but tasted a bit odd. Jambalaya smelled unappetizing, tasted weird, and was under-seasoned if seasoned at all. Beef brisket was flaky and not juicy at all, and also tasted under-seasoned. Baked beans tasted like plain red beans, again lacking seasoning and depth of flavor. Mac and cheese was underwhelming and runny but edible, reminding me of boxed mac and cheese. Cornbread was good. Drink straws were not wrapped, which made me question the cleanliness of servers touching straws after everything else they touch. Service was good, but the food needs substantial improvement.

  Everyone enjoyed our food - brisket nachos (they are very good), baby back ribs, Mac & cheese, smash burger, potatoe salad. They did a good job on the gluten-free options for my wife. Definitely a good place for lunch, dinner, drinks and sports too.

  We enjoyed our meal here at Downtown Bethany Blues - our only regret was not going sooner! We walk-in and got on the waiting list. Waited about 15-20 mins on a Sunday night. The vibe inside is chill and casual. I like the decor with all the bourbon bottles. The chairs are comfortable and cushioned. Our server was very nice, attentive and got our orders taken promptly and correctly. We got onion strings with dipping sauce and Caesar salad to start. Both great! For the main meals we got brisket, Mac and cheese, green beans, 1/2 rack ribs, garlic mashed potatoes, pulled chicken and coleslaw. Everything was good and the portions were generous! The green beans were fresh and cooked perfectly. The Mac and cheese was creamy and made with cavatappi pasta. The brisket way flavor full but I found it to be a little dry and the bark too salty. It was still good though. My friend had the same and enjoyed it. Ribs, chicken, coleslaw and mash were all said to be good as well. They give a basket of cornbread and whipped butter which was also tasty. Someone in our group got an old fashioned and it was made perfectly! We would definitely go back 👍

  this is now the second time we’ve been here and it’s just a very classic barbecue restaurant many options. This actually took the place of the old Nico bullies. Done its job and it’s just a great restaurant and my sister said the mac & cheese is phenomenal and so is the service. It’s just a great restaurant 10 out of 10 after a long day at the beach they have bathrooms that are very nice and their drinks are very good. we also had a DJ during our stay at the restaurant and my father noticed his shoes were very interesting and we had a long chat with him about it.

  Wow, what a difference a year makes. Last year it was a go to spot for fried pickles, BBQ and sides, with an excellent Old Fashioned. Ordered the brisket (extremely dry and crumbly, with a hint of beef flavor covered up by what I can only describe as salty, similar to chewing on beef flavored salty wood - truly the worst beef brisket I've ever had), the Carolina pulled pork (less dry than the brisket, vinegary and not much flavor other than vinegar), and the burger (pretty good). The cucumber and onion side was quite good, the Old Fashioned was good, but not great like I remembered from last year, and the coleslaw and Mac n cheese were fine. The BBQ sauces were nowhere to be found - I think that the dryness of the food has given way to excessive sauce use by patrons, and they have to carefully ration it out. A near complete 180 from the last time we ate here a year ago.
