Too many self service isles, which I will not use. One cashier on, who requested help on the overhead, took close to 10 minutes to open up another line. There are many choices for groceries in this town.

Prices can be a little higher but they have some items that other supermarkets don't have. Sign up on their website to get discounts.

For the lady in the bakery- always there in early morning- Abe's muffins are now in the freezer. Remembers me by how many I buy each week. I show up and she knows immediately. Abe's has been a favorite for a long time. When I moved from Philly area I wasn't able to find them in Dover area. So, now I have and I'm good. There is no substitute for this product and she knows there is no need to suggest anything else.

Nice clean store and associates are very nice. Prices are a bit higher. I want to buy meat on special today and they were out for the second time.

I came to this store earlier and had a very disrespectful experience. I am currently in town caring for a family member who recently had surgery, and needed to make a store run for them. While standing in line with my cousin and actively placing our groceries on the conveyor two young people stepped between us and the person in front of us checking out, essentially cutting us in line. At first, we were confused and thought perhaps they were with the person checking out, surely know one would be that rude to cut in front of others, but that was not the case. They simply just cut in front of us and the store associate, who I believe is named Kaya, did absolutely nothing, didn’t say anything and instead, she continued chatting with them and checked them out ahead of us. They completed two separate transactions, meaning two separate checkouts occurred before we were served. To make matters worse, both of their payment cards initially declined -tends to happen when you act this way to others by cutting in front. At that point, we were very upset and commented on how rude it was to cut in front of people who had already been waiting in line. There was also another customer standing behind us who they essentially cut in front of as well. When it was finally our turn to check out, I asked Kaya, "Did you see them cut in front of us?" Rather than acknowledging why a customer might be frustrated by the situation, she responded, "No, they didn't. They were in line earlier” Apparently, basic line etiquette is a missed concept at this Dover Safeway. Since when can someone leave a line for an extended period of time and then return to cut in front of everyone? That makes no sense. Secondly, I’m confused why the store associate did not make this claim from the beginning when she actively saw them return to the line and cut in front of us, had she said this up front, would I have been annoyed? Yes, but I would not have taken the time to even follow up in a negative review because it was respectfully explained to me. While it is possible the two young people may have been in line before we arrived (although I didn’t witness that) it is still cutting someone in line when you jump in front of them. If someone leaves the line, they should not be allowed to return and cut in front of other customers, go to the back of the line or use the hundred self checkouts that half the store is taken up by. As a store associate, Kaya should have addressed the situation rather than defending the actions, and basically telling me I was wrong in my experience. I think this associate clearly should correct this thought process, and really think about the situation objectively. Some customers, like me, may simply voice their frustration and move on, and leave a bad review. Others may react much more strongly and create a scene. I hope store management or corporate speaks with her about this incident. I also hope they provide a thoughtful response to these concerns rather than relying on a generic response.
