  I like Safeway. Its a bit pricey but their produce and meat are better than Walmart up the street BUT I find the workers can be rude or act like tour irritating them of you have a problem at self checkout. Also, im a black woman with a baby. I noticed once that the worker was standing super close to me when I was checking out my items as if I was gonna steal something.And i'm not a thief , i'm an honest person. That's the reason why I give it 3 stars, because\nI spend too much money at that store to be treated like that

  It's a very decent store, has everything I need. But some of the things I want to buy are at outrageous prices while at different locations it's much cheaper.

  Safeway's mission emphasizes earning customer loyalty through quality products and community engagement. Unfortunately, my recent experience was far from that standard. It seems that quickly entering the store, knowing exactly what I need, and where its located in this establishment while trying to avoid the rain is discouraged. I purchased a 24-pack and a 12-pack of water, and which I purchased. The security guard decided it was appropriate to lock my cart as I was leaving, even though I had paid and had the receipt in hand. My family and I have been loyal customers for 20 years. This behavior is absolutely unacceptable, disappointing, ridiculous and absurd!!! Do better.

  I’m extremely disappointed with the situation surrounding the Pokémon vending machine at this Safeway. Certain employees appear to be monitoring the machine and communicating with friends about its activity, which gives the impression that their friends are being given preferential access to Pokémon products while other customers are discouraged from using the machine. I was especially concerned by an older employee with a beard who told us that because they work and shop at Safeway, they are allowed to order from the machine. The situation has also become confrontational, and individuals associated with this group even became aggressive toward my younger brother, who is a minor. That is completely unacceptable. The Pokémon vending machine is there for customers to use fairly. Safeway employees should not be using their position at the store to monitor the machine, give friends an advantage, intimidate other customers, or interfere with who can purchase products. Safeway management should investigate this situation, including employee conduct around the machine, and take appropriate disciplinary action if these allegations are confirmed. Customers should be able to use a vending machine inside the store without feeling watched, intimidated, or pushed away.
