Amazing flavors, fresh veggies and great service - all for a good price too! This was a delicious lunch and we’re able to seat us right away. I can’t wait to be back!

Absolutely loved our experience at Sabai Thai-Lao Dining! They recently changed the owner, and this is a wonderful family-owned restaurant, and you can really feel the warmth and care the moment you walk in. You even see the family eating there themselves, which says a lot about the quality of the food. Highly, Highly recommend asking the server for suggestions because we discovered some amazing dishes we probably wouldn’t have ordered otherwise. The food was incredibly unique and flavorful. Beyond the classic Pad Thai and familiar Thai dishes, they also offer very authentic Thai-Lao cuisine that you don’t often find elsewhere. We learned that their chef previously worked at a Michelin restaurant in Thailand, and it definitely shows in both the flavor and presentation. One thing I especially appreciated was how healthy and balanced the food felt. The dishes were not greasy or oily at all — they use just the right amount of oil to make everything delicious without feeling heavy afterward. And I have to mention the rice — it was stunningly good. I eat rice all the time, so I can absolutely tell good rice from bad rice, and theirs is honestly excellent. The staff and family were also incredibly friendly. Don’t hesitate to ask questions or chat with them — they are warm, welcoming, and happy to recommend dishes. A true hidden gem!

Apr 2026: Thai -Lao restaraunt in DuPont circle. Good on the chicken pineapple fried rice, rates 7/10. But the pad thai was a 1/10, they oddly spiced the heck out of it to the point you could not even taste the peanuts. The staff could not explain why. No lime wedge with the PT either.

The food here was on point! It was a tad pricey, but I think that's become the normal in DC. The staff was attentive and friendly! We had the vegetable rolls, chicken satay, tom yum and tom kha, massaman curry and pad kee mao. Everything was flavorful and thoroughly enjoyable! It's kinda easy to miss this spot, but I'm glad we stumbled in.

Delicious food. Their menu is so unique and tasty. I’m glad our friend invited us to try this place. We just let the server pick our food for us and it was great.
