  The restaurant is located in the River Inn, a lovely boutique hotel onba quiet street in Foggy Bottom DC.

  What a great way to start our day. The food was delicious us and our waitress, Sandra, was very professional and friendly. She did a great job waitressing for us.

  Sandra is our go-to girl! She is so kind, prompt, and thoughtful. We love starting our day with breakfast/coffee at Matera then happy hour later on. We are at an extended stay due to a family member in the hospital and I cannot tell you how much easier Sandra and the rest of the Matera staff has made our time here. Thank you!!!!

  I also want to give special mention to Isil, who greets you at Matera with a warm smile. If you are lucky enough to come back, she'll recognize you and she's like a trusted friend welcoming you into her home. The service and the food here really makes the experience rock.
