We were looking at a few different steakhouses in the area but decided to try this due to the fact they were participating in a restaurant week and the deal was good. While I appreciate a dim lit aesthetic, we had to use our phone light to be able to read the menu. We ordered the bread basket which was good but the waiter 1/2 way thru eating the first piece came and took my plate because the soup was coming. When he grabbed the plate I thought maybe he was moving it over since the table was so small but he just took it and left. Absolutely loss of words. The plate temperature was hot however the steak was lukewarm. The hot grease from the steak splattered onto my pants which didn't thrill me. The augratin potatoes were a no for the table. Neither of us liked the taste. The butter cake was good. What bothered me so much about the experience was the amount of staff standing around just starring at you but when we tried to call one over to get something they acted like they didn't see us. Very disappointing experience.

Had a great dinner at Mastro’s Steakhouse. Everything we ordered was delicious, starting with the bread, which was honestly a highlight on its own. The bone marrow was rich and flavorful, and the salad was fresh and a nice balance to the meal.
Of course, the steaks were the star of the show—perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. Overall, a great steakhouse experience with excellent food and a nice atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a quality steak dinner.

First the good. This is a beautiful restaurant and the smell of garlic fills the air. The bar is incredible, and their cocktails are supreme. Everett was a fantastic bartender as well. Now the bad. The food is sub-par. I ordered the tuna sashimi - that wasn't the name of it, but it was "restaurant week" so it was a fixed menu. It was too salty and just didn't taste right. They offered to bring me something else, but I let it go. I ordered the filet. Ugh. I guess I must be spoiled by my husband's BBQ, but I have had steaks other places and this didn't cut it. I ate just a little of it. Was also supposed to be Medium rare and it came out medium well. We had read that the garlic potatoes were excellent, so we ordered them. They were ordinary. Then came the desert. My husband had the cheesecake, and I had their signature desert. Once again, I can't find the name of it it on their menu, but supposedly it is fantastic. It was dry and flavorless. I was surprised when they brought a piece of chocolate cake out that said Happy 40th anniversary and Happy Birthday, It was good, until I found out they tried to charge us $18 for it. We didn't even order it. They took it off our bill. Now for the ugly. We ordered a $60 bottle of wine. There were two wines to choose from in the red blend category. We wrestled with whether or nor we should spend $102 for the more expensive bottle, but decided that we couldn't afford it, and since the waiter went on and on about how good the $60 bottle was, and even said they had already opened it. Apparently, he brought us the more expensive bottle, but we didn't look at the bottle. Imagine our surprise when we found they had charged us $102 for the bottle, but REFUSED to take it off and charge us for the $60 bottle!!! The waiter hid, and the manager was RUDE, saying we had "accepted the bottle". Way to ruin a birthday and anniversary, folks!

Nostalgia is the best way to put it. It reminded me of the last time I was here, which was when I was a student in grad school in DC. A great place with beautiful live music, it has a great jazz and soul vibe to it. Offers great food and service. I highly recommend it to all.

I attended a birthday dinner this past weekend. My total came to around $147 including valet. My server ended up charging me $510, stating that it was an “accident”. The amount was still pending through Monday, however now it’s pending another charge, which was the cost of the entire party. When I called and spoke to the manager, she was dismissive and assured me that their system reflects an amount less than what was charged to my card and proceeded to email me a receipt at my request, however, it’s now Tuesday and I still have another charge on my card from this restaurant. After calling my bank, there’s nothing that the bank can do due to it being a pending charge on the restaurants side. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, because this has been a major inconvenience, and the management has not solved this issue. I won’t be back again, and I’ll also be posting a review on all of my social media accounts. For this to be a “fine dining” experience, it was the worst. I will not be back!
