Excellent service, great variety of Persian food, friendly staff and amazing atmosphere. I felt in love with the art work. I highly recommend to see all 3 floors and check all the walls in stairways. They are covered with lots of artistic ideas. I had their Torsheh Kabob and it was delicious. They also have great variety of deserts. Highly recommended.

My husband and I visited Darvish Kitchen for dinner last night during our trip to Washington, D.C. from Canada, and it was easily one of the highlights of our visit. While the food was absolutely delicious and the service was wonderfully attentive, the atmosphere and decor truly stole the show. The interior is thoughtfully designed with traditional Iranian instruments like the daf and detailed with stunning blue tilework. Coupled with peaceful, authentic Iranian music playing softly in the background, the ambiance was both relaxing and captivating. It was a truly fantastic dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommended to anyone in or visiting the DC area!

Came here for dinner and left seriously impressed. We started with the mixed appetizer platter, hummus, baba ganoush, mast o khiar, and an olive tapenade all done really well, the hummus especially had that silky texture with a nice drizzle of olive oil and pomegranate seeds on top. Great start with warm bread on the side too. For mains we got the herbed rice (loved the crispy tahdig crust on top) and the lamb shank, which was fall off the bone tender in a rich tomato based sauce. Portions were generous and everything tasted fresh and authentic. The vibe was awesome too, they had a live Persian DJ going which gave the whole place a fun, lively energy without being overwhelming. Great spot for a group dinner or a date night if you’re into good food and good music. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Our experience at Darvish Kitchen was extremely disappointing and, in my opinion, not worth the money at all. The food quality was far below what we expected, especially considering the prices. The restaurant gives the impression of being an upscale, luxury Persian dining destination, but the actual experience did not come close to matching that image. The upstairs area, which is presented as a more exclusive and higher-end section and comes with additional charges, was particularly disappointing. The space did not feel luxurious, elegant, or sophisticated. The décor looked cluttered and filled with random pictures and decorations that did very little to create an upscale atmosphere. We were also charged $85 for a hookah, despite the quality being nowhere near what we would expect for that price. The restaurant also promotes live music, but the room was very small and the sound system was extremely loud. Instead of creating an enjoyable atmosphere, the volume was overwhelming and made conversation difficult. For the prices being charged, I expected significantly better food, service, atmosphere, and overall experience. Unfortunately, the reality did not justify the cost. If you are looking for a genuinely upscale Persian dining experience, I would recommend exploring other options before spending your money here. In my opinion, this place is seriously overpriced for what it delivers.

Darwish a taste of Persia in the Heart of DC If you're craving authentic Persian cuisine in Washington DC, Darwish is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you walk in, the warm hospitality and inviting atmosphere make you feel like a guest in someone's home rather than just another customer. The food is where Darwish truly shines. The kabobs are cooked to perfection — smoky, tender, and full of flavor, clearly made with fresh ingredients and traditional techniques passed down through generations. The rice (tahdig, if they have it) is a standout, with that perfect golden, crispy crust that Persian cuisine is famous for. Every dish felt like it was prepared with genuine care and pride. The flavors are rich and layered — you can taste the saffron, the herbs, the slow-cooked stews — everything balanced beautifully between savory, tangy, and aromatic notes that make Persian food so special. Service was attentive without being intrusive,
