Our newest café in DC is nestled within the iconic Tempo Hotel on K Street, at the heart of Washington’s vibrant Golden Triangle business district.
The Design
Cosmopolitan Melbourne design and Sydney beach aesthetics meet the polished energy of one of DC’s most dynamic corridors. Set within the stylish Tempo Hotel, our design team envisioned a refined yet relaxed interior that complements the hotel’s modern sensibility — think warm natural tones, lush greenery, and organic curved furnishings that bring a sense of calm to the city’s busiest stretch. Bespoke fixtures and an abundance of natural light create an inviting atmosphere for both hotel guests and the surrounding neighborhood, with indoor and alfresco seating to soak in the K Street buzz.
Located in the heart of the Golden Triangle at 1776 K St NW, the café delivers the full Bluestone Lane experience — an acclaimed Australian coastal aesthetic, a radiant all-day menu, full cocktail service, and our signature specialty coffee program. Local Hour runs throughout the year, offering bites and happy drink pricing on classic Australian and local beer and wine.

I ordered the BL Big Brekkie, and the only salvageable part was the bacon. The vegetables all tasted off, the eggs were rubbery and tasteless, and the toast was soggy and bogged down by the rest of the meal’s pungent flavors. The food made me feel sick and I could not even finish it, and I am not a picky eater. The portion size was also small for the price and the order took a bit of time to get out despite the place being almost empty. I don’t review restaurants at all usually because I try not to be too judgmental but this was truly an awful experience. Do not go here.

- SBsemajh bludsonJun 15, 20265.0I had not been to this bluestone yet, and according to the email this location would be one carrying the new Summer Series 818 drinks, upon inquiry I learned that this was not the case and was informed that this location is very new and just opened, beautiful location! I ordered a simple shot of espresso and it was good, clean, went down easy! Smooth! being that this location is steps away from the farragut west station, once this one is fully up and running I will be back! The cashier was very nice, only downside is the bathroom is a bit of a walk away as it is connected to the hotel this Bluestone resides in.
