  The owner was very arrogant killed the whole evening vibe for us. Tried to let them know what was wrong, but apparently he did not care to hear it during our visit. The side of fries for nearly $10 were under cooked, and the rest of our dishes was just ok. We have visited this establishment several times over the years, and it is unfortunate to see it declining, it used to be a must go when traveling to DC , now it is on the avoid list.

  Cool ambience and tasty food, but not good enough to make up for the rude and discourteous service. The two (two!) bartenders seemed more worried about inventory than checking in on their customers, even though we were the only customers eating at the bar. To his credit, the manager apologized and offered us “something nice” on our next visit. Not sure what that means, but not incentive enough to make a return trip. Disappointing experience, especially after hearing such great things.

  This is what food is supposed to be. Fresh, delicious and all presented in an attractive way. You can clearly notice that the chef knows what he is doing. And the beer list is excellent. Much appreciated

  Tried Belga Cafe. Food was excellent, and the vibe and location are really lovely. Service was on the slower side, but the staff were warm and charming. I chalked it up to a busy Friday evening. Would still go back.

  Despite having made a reservation for brunch my wife and I were relegated to their overflow roof area. It was not properly insulated and quite cold. The service was subpar as well, with me having to ask multiple times before I received the complete drink menu. There server prefered to just ask "what do you want?". This might have been acceptable at a bar & grill with 5 or so taps, but the cafe boasts an extensive drink menu. Also, shouldn't you want to be pushing drinks for their profit margin, it seems baffling from a business perspective to be reluctant to sell me alcohol. While the food was inoffensive, it was at a level of quality that I would expect as the bare minimum for the price point, thus did little to make up for the rest of our experience. We will not be back.
