  What an amazing brunch. Food was excellent. The esthetics were wonderful. Loved the $15 unlimited drinks and small plate. The service form our waiter was so awesome. He was so intentional thoughtful and even brought more positivity. Can't wait to go back.

  This is top 3 most beautiful restaurants I’ve been to in 2025. I was in DC in the Shaw area and wanted a bite to eat. I saw they were busy and decided to try it out. The food was something else, it was wonderful. It’s not far away from capital one arena and was very busy. The decor of the second floor was like something out of a fair tale. The employees were kind and friendly and got me my food at a good timing. I was deeply saddened by the tragic accident leaving this restaurant closed until further notice. The second they open back up I want to be there because this place is amazing. The experience was one of the best parts of this restaurant because of every little detail. I highly recommend coming here after they reopen however there are other Ambar restaurants in the area so I will be going to those as well.

  Not great parking. I found that the prices didn't really match the volume or quality of the food provided. Perhaps upon re-opening they'll have specials or better happy hour deals.

  Ambar Shaw is a true DC gem and we are rooting for you! 🫶🏻 Ambar Shaw on 7th Street NW is exactly the kind of place that reminds you why DC dining is special. Tucked in the heart of Shaw, the atmosphere is moody and intimate, the service is warm, and the food is genuinely transportative Balkan cuisine done with real intention and care. Their happy hour is chef’s kiss, all day Monday and Tuesday, plus 4–7pm Wednesday through Friday, with cocktails, wine, and beer starting at just $6–8. We’re talking a Kiwi Smash, Mango Lemonade, Red Sangria, and house wines from Moldova alongside bites like Ambar Fries with smoked aioli, Fried Chicken Sliders, and Drunken Mussels flambéed in brandy. Genuinely one of the best happy hour deals in the city. I am heartbroken about the recent accident and want Ambar to know this community is firmly behind you. Shaw needs you back. Wishing the entire team a safe, swift, and full recovery. We will be here with our wine glasses raised when you reopen. 💎
