  The fried chicken here is SO good! 🍗 Seriously, whoever is making the chicken in the deli deserves some recognition because it is on a whole different level — honestly, some of the best fried chicken I’ve had anywhere in Connecticut! I don’t know his name, but I always look for him when I come in. If he’s working, I’m getting the chicken. 😂 The only problem is that it’s usually sold out by dinner time, so I’ve learned to go around lunchtime if I want to get some. I’m constantly trying to eat healthier and stick to my diet, but this man’s fried chicken keeps ruining my plans. 😂 It’s just THAT good! The produce section is also really good. Most of the time, I find the fruits and vegetables here fresher and better quality than what I get at BJ’s or ShopRite. The self-checkout is convenient, too. My only small complaint is that the lighting in most of the store is a little dim, except for the deli and produce sections. Overall, I really like shopping here. But honestly, if you haven’t tried their deli fried chicken yet, you’re missing out!

  This is for the deli department...There's an extremely rude angry woman working at the deli that has no business working with the public and she's really nasty with her coworkers too...she needs to be re-trained or moved to another department where she doesn't interact with others.

  Idk why Everytime i go into this store (any s&s), they have more self checkout lanes than they Do people actually working. I work 40+ hrs/week as I’m sure most of society does, ringing up my own groceries is the last thing i want to do. I don’t work here, I’m not trained. Also, what’s up w/ the digital coupons? Most people are in a rush on the weekends, in& out. stopping at a kiosk is not something that crosses my mind when I’m already a member with an active and long standing number. Now I’m walking all the way across the store to type in my phone number a 2nd time at a diff location in the store . Stupid idea. The whole concept is dumb and inconvenient, makes shopping longer and more Difficult in my day.

  If you want to be harassed by a bunch of pan handlers this is the place to go, it has gotten so bad and its always the same people its nuts. I cant believe that the stop and shop management allows this surely you can call the police and get them to leave. Its the same two people, an old woman claiming that she has a lot of cats that need help with cat food and some random dude selling sour patch kids

  Since the nearby Stop & Shop in Milford closed, this Stratford location has been the convenient next option. But not anymore. Each time I've been here over the past few months there's been a group of aggressive panhandlers congregating at the entrance/exit harassing customers as they come and go. One or more of them is typically laying across the items under the awning that should otherwise be for sale such that, if you're looking to buy any of these products, you'd have to first ask them to get up (risking the predictable reaction and response,) There's no possible way the management at this location is unaware of this issue, yet it persists. Surely there must be someone left in a decision-making role within the Stop & Shop corporation who understands that you shouldn't allow paying customers to be subjected to such an unnecessary and uncomfortable (if not outright dangerous) situation. This is no way to run a business. Do yourself a favor, drive the extra 5 minutes to another Stop & Shop location, or to a competing grocery chain altogether.
