  Since the nearby Stop & Shop in Milford closed, this Stratford location has been the convenient next option. But not anymore. Each time I've been here over the past few months there's been a group of aggressive panhandlers congregating at the entrance/exit harassing customers as they come and go. One or more of them is typically laying across the items under the awning that should otherwise be for sale such that, if you're looking to buy any of these products, you'd have to first ask them to get up (risking the predictable reaction and response,) There's no possible way the management at this location is unaware of this issue, yet it persists. Surely there must be someone left in a decision-making role within the Stop & Shop corporation who understands that you shouldn't allow paying customers to be subjected to such an unnecessary and uncomfortable (if not outright dangerous) situation. This is no way to run a business. Do yourself a favor, drive the extra 5 minutes to another Stop & Shop location, or to a competing grocery chain altogether.

  If you want a bottle and can exchange go to shop rite. I was waiting in line at the service desk and the rude associate and lady in front of me was doing a lottery transaction and had a nerve to tell me where to stand because I was interrupting their conversation that's the truth. Why do people get to tell me where I have to stand in line. Rude man at the service desk. I was standing right behind the woman in front of me and they had to tell me where I was supposed to be standing. Nobody should be able to tell a free person where they have to stand in line regardless. The service desk associate at this stop in shop told me where to stand in line and gave me a bad attitude about it and the money I made from my bottles and cans. They are incredibly incompetent at this stop and shop. They never have my groceries ready and bring them out to me at the curbside I have to go in and receive them myself because of the incompetence. Don't come here to this store there are plenty of stores where you can go where you won't catch the attitude or incompetence. What goes around comes around, remember that…

  I Liked going to this store but unfortunately the bottle return area function is horrible. They should have someone regularly checking it every hour to 2 hours reviewing the machines which are always "bin full". And then when you call for service they take 20 min. or more to get there to empty them out. And there should be enforced policy for how many bags people should be aloud to bring no more then 3 bags. Sometimes people are in there with 10 bags no wonder they get full to quickly. Those people should go to the bigger recycling center. That should be a policy.

  Produce and meat are overpriced and low quality. The Nature's Promise organic line is the only reason I go. It is affordable and good quality.

  Watched an employee happily turn away a mother and two super young children a couple minutes before closing time. Downright cruel to turn away children before the time the store is supposed to be closed.
