  Lets talk about Kokomo's in Old Lyme. If I had to title this, the title would be something clever like, just throw your money in the trash. This pic is an adult potion of jerk steak tips (8oz) with yellow rice and pan fried plantains. It was maybe 4oz of meat, barely over room temp. The rice was inedible. The plantains were nice. I had a diet coke. They were 3$, from a fountain, and started off as the wateriest soda I have had to date. I had *maybe* a 12oz can worth of watery soda for 6$ Girlfriend had the fish and chips. Hers was ok. She also had virgin pina colada served in a fresh pineapple. They left the core in to hog volume. 20% gratuity is not only automatically added, its added PRETAX, so you get to also pay tax on it. When present, which they weren't really, the staff was at least friendly. Out the door this meal cost just under a $100. It was worth maybe 40. Over all, I get not only higher quality food, but more of it when I goto a vendor at fest. I'd suggest avoiding this place unless what you want is expensive disappointment.

  The absolute worst! With the exception of its beach setting, this restaurant fails epically. Ordered a burger and fries, they had no fries. Really? (It was only 5 o'clock.) Ordered a Sun Cooler, they were out of that too. The burger was definitely not cooked after it was ordered. But most likely, was left over from the night before. A true hockey puck of a burger. And when I asked for the chips that were supposed to come with the burger (fries were an add on), the person that served me the burger acted like it was an inconvenience to get them. (Heavy sigh with an eye roll.)The final kicker, they automatically add a 22% tip on all checks. AVOID THIS PLACE!

  I never leave reviews but I’ve felt compelled. They think a burger “without pink,” as they put it, means a flavorless blackened charred meat circle. Laziest $18 burger I’ve ever seen. They ran out of fries so they gave us these home chips they make that are also flavorless and unseasoned. Between the two of us we ate about 5 chips because we were really hungry. They also took forever to bring us our food and the place was near empty when we went. The buffalo wrap was okayyy. Kind of mid and standard and not worth the price. I will say thought the atmosphere is great. It’s really cute in there and the beach is great of course. I would definitely not recommend though.

  I don’t often leave reviews because I think everyone has bad days but this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. I have a gluten allergy, the restaurants menu both online and in person have gluten free items labeled. I informed my server and the food was still made with a fried item I requested removed on the plate. We all make mistakes that is okay. But it took about 25 minutes for my new plate to come out, everyone else had already finished eating. I asked to speak to a manager and before I got my first sentence out she started blaming my server. We were also told an incorrect MKP for the lobster roll a member of our party ordered ($36.00 btw) for the skinniest lobster roll I’ve ever seen. Tap water is also not available at the restaurant. And a 20% service charge is added to every check, even though though we had a party of 2 and received subpar service.

  Wife got jerk chicken. I got mahi mahi. Kids got Mac and cheese. First off how do you mess up Mac and cheese. Dry and crusty. Wife and kids ordered before me, I ordered about 15 minutes after. Got my food first and finished before the other foods came out. Mahi mahi was dry and the salsa on top tastes like jar salsa. Rice and plantain were good. Waiter never checked up on us. Wife’s and kids food came out 30 minutes later and then waitress checked on us. Jerk chicken was a piece of chicken with sauce on top. Everything tastes like microwaved and came from a jar. Other waiter was nice and even told us it was far from anything jerk ( dude was from the island). Only thing good about the place was the view and sitting area.
