  Excellent dining experience again. Party of 4. All had steak in one form or another. Filet to Porterhouse….The appetizer options a wide and with a twist that I appreciate. We all ordered different sides so basically got to sample all available and there was none I would not order. I had the Filet, Blue Cheese butter, Corn with bacon, Potatoes au gratin, Ice cream to finish. Wonderful dinner. Cocktails and wine selection was up to the task as well. Recommended.

  I had a wonderful dining experience at J. Gilbert’s in Glastonbury, where the delicious food and excellent service made the evening feel special. The steak was flavorful and satisfying, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The crab cake was another highlight of the meal and paired beautifully with the steak, making the combination a great choice. The staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout dinner, adding to the overall experience. I would happily return and highly recommend J. Gilbert’s to anyone looking for a great meal, outstanding service, and an enjoyable evening out.

  I was there last week on Friday I came back this Saturday was supposed to get a round of drinks one of the managers came over and when I told him he looked up my name and number could not find me in the system very aggravated I am probably never going to come back there because all he had to do is give us two drinks and I would have been very happy the food is very good but the service is a whole other thing and a manager should have just did what he was supposed to do and the managers like I can't see anything in the system I'm like at that point I know you're not going to live up to what one of your manager said so like please just leave the table

  We had a reservation for after 5pm, 3 people, in the lounge on a Saturday night. We were seated very quickly once we arrived, and were checked on regularly to ensure we had what we needed and our waitress Kim was friendly. Prices for entrees varied $25-$70 . Portions made sense in quantity and quality for what they are priced. It’s a small menu that didn’t seem to have any vegetarian options beyond salads, but there’s still enough variety to choose from. We added deserts to the mix which didnt disappoint. I would suggest this spot for date night or a small intimate get togethers My only con is the intimate space with the noise level. It was nothing near being at a noisy club, but it was a tad harder to hear than I would have liked. Over all, a good experience!

  Don't waste your money! I had a similar experience one Memorial Day a few years ago. Especially if you're a person of color they will profile you coming in. After we sat down we saw a few other groups of younger well-dressed blacks being seated then suddenly decided to leave based on interactions with waitstaff. That told me that should have been my cue to leave. Then we waited for our waiter to take our order which seemed like an eternity. People who came in after us and seated had their orders taken before us but I didn't think much of it as I just gave them the benefit of the doubt. After 2 more hours when we finally received our meals I realized waitstaff and our waitress deliberately made it a point to serve us (and all minority patrons) dead last. This business is obscene and horrible and an insult to all the decent and civic minded restaurants that truly do represent the broader, multicultural communities we live in...
