This restaurant has the potential to be 5 stars for me, the food was good, however the disorganization due to the influx of customers for spooky season makes it a stressful experience. First of all, be prepared that parking is a nightmare, come early if you have a dinner reservation. And they unfortunately do not have enough staff to accommodate the amount of people. You will likely be seated past your reservation window, so keep that in mind. Service is very chaotic, multiple times staff came up to us with the wrong orders, and they forgot our silverware and also ran out of drink menus and had to borrow one from our table. However they were very nice and I did appreciate that. Another issue is that they don’t have a proper host stand — so the poor limited wait staff have to run back and forth between serving tables and where people are waiting in the middle of the restaurant. They also ran out of vampire teeth for their “Dracula’s kiss” cocktail which was like half the reason I ordered it for the fun garnish. It wasn’t a huge deal, but was a downer after all the other unpleasantness. The food and drinks were good, I think if they had an actual host and a few more servers this place could be a lot better.

We were told to sit at any table, so we picked one away from thr crowd since I have a medical disorder that lowers my immune system. We were then told to pick a seat with place settings so we moved and the new seat was in the middle of a crowd so not great. Then the next party sat where we originally sat and they were not asked to move... There was a gnat buzzing around our table the entire time and the food has gone down hill, for example the brisket flatbread had very little brisket hidden under arugula. They are using a lot of AI in the dinning room including images of the food, so don't expect your food to look like what is on the TV. I sadly do not recommend this place anymore.

Where do I begin? The highlight of our night was when we left. I planned this date night weeks ago and made a reservation online. I knew given the time of year and their social media popularity that it would be busy. Usually busy is good though, it means good service and fresh hot food. Not the case at Transilvania. We walked in and they clearly didn’t have our reservation. After a few minutes the hostess came back and sat the two of us at an awkwardly large table for 5. It felt like we were seated at King Arthur’s round table. It was so loud and packed and I was so far away from my fiancé that we were about to send notes to one another just to communicate. The waitress hastily came over and asked what we wanted. We ordered our drinks, our appetizer and then attempted to order our meals. I say attempt because the first four things we asked for they didn’t have. I wouldn’t mind but the menu isn’t very big to begin with. The drinks came and I wasn’t sure if I ordered a cocktail or cough medicine. The old fashioned the she ordered was not an old fashioned but more like a stale Mike’s Hard Lemonade in a rocks glass. Our Romanian meatballs arrived and were almost tossed on the table. I took a bite and then looked at the meatballs to see if they said Top Flight or Callaway on the side. This meal was doomed from the start. Around this time a couple was seated next to us at an appropriate sized table - lucky them. Our main course arrived. I ended up with the wiener schnitzel, if I closed my eyes I would have thought I was eating a piece of printer paper. Apparently Romanians don’t believe in any kind of spices. I was getting covid flashbacks and thought maybe I was just upset about the food and service leading up to the main course so my fiancé tried it and agreed it was awful. I tried a bite of my potatoes and almost broke my tooth they were so raw. Her meal which was some kind of braised beef was barely room temperature. I couldn’t go on, I threw in the towel. Had our waitress actually come over and asked how everything was I could have explained how awful it all was but she never came back. The couple next to us sat there for twenty minutes and hadn’t even been acknowledged. Finally the bus boy came over and asked if I wanted a to go container. I did not. The waitress came over and I explained just how bad the meal was by picking up one of the potatoes and tried to squeeze it but not even Arnold Schwarzenegger on his strongest day could squish that potato. The waitress gave a half assed apology and said she’d take it off the bill. This is when I did two things I’ve never done before. I didn’t tip her and on the way out I warned the people waiting for their tables to just leave. The poor couple still sat there ignored by any staff and said they were leaving too. In conclusion, I’d rather travel back in time and be tortured to death and have my head put on a pike by Vlad The Impaler rather than come back to this restaurant.

The food was excellent. There honestly wasn’t one thing I ate that I didn’t like. The mici was amazing, the flatbread and Romanian meatballs were heavenly, and the chicken paprikash was excellent as well. Everything was well priced for the quality and amount of food. And get Vlad the Impaler. Just do it. I’m not going to ruin the fun. Service was mostly fast and friendly. The decor is really well done too. It commits to the Transylvania theme without becoming cheesy or over-the-top. Even little things like the flickering lights make you briefly wonder if there’s an electrical problem before you remember where you are. My negatives: the room gets extremely loud, loud enough that having a normal conversation can be difficult. I also saw food brought to the wrong tables more than once before being redirected. It almost happened to us too, though it was caught quickly. Parking is tight tight. Not many spaces parking across the street was how we solved it. Those issues aside, the food alone makes this place worth visiting. I would absolutely go back.

I've heard about this place and decided to drive up with my wife to check it out. It's about an hour from where we live. We are so glad we made the trip! We were welcomed by the bartender (Rhein) who was also our waitress. She was AMAZING! Since it was our first time here she explained how everything is made from scratch in house except for the onion rings. (Her honesty is greatly appreciated) For starters my wife got the tripe soup and I had the cheese cascava (mozzarella sticks). Its drizzled with balsamic and incredible. My wife couldn't decide between 2 dishes so Rhein said "I'll be right back". She comes back and said the kitchen will make the smaller portions of both for her if she would like. (It's was the early bird specials but we weren't within the time frame) So OF COURSE she did that. I got the bacon cheeseburger. The food was delicious! My wife is from Poland and she said the Traditional Stew reminded her of back home. Every employee were super friendly and welcoming. Rhein even took us for a little tour of the place and told us the history. If we lived closer we'd be here once a week. We'll settle for once a month....maybe more. Thank you Rhein and the staff for making our first experience amazing.
