  30 people waiting in line for a single open register while 6 other registers stay closed. The self-checkout area is completely overloaded, and it feels like customers are expected to do the employees’ job for them. The store itself is clean, so I can’t complain about that, but the registers look like they haven’t even been wiped down in a very long time. The food is usually fresh — unless it goes bad while you’re stuck standing in an absurdly long line. Another big issue is the discount section. The store tries to sell rotten fruit for only about 50 cents less than fresh produce. Products in that condition should be thrown away, not pushed onto customers.

  I ordered online from Stop&Shop today.WhenI placed my order,I selected from North Haven, CT.for my order to be placed there.When my order was finished and on the way for delivery,the notice on my order said from East Haven,CT Stop&Shop,and this is what I got in my order.

  Shop looks very organized. Great choices. Good prices. Only unusual thing isvthe fruit and veggies department. Where I expect to find it immediately after ntering the shop, here it was the last department before ceckout... there must be a reason for it, but a bit odd to me.

  As a general manager of a high-volume restaurant, I understand firsthand how demanding customer-facing jobs can be and what it feels like to work through busy shifts, staffing challenges, and stressful days. I wanted to share my experience at the East Haven Stop & Shop because I’ve now had two disappointing visits in a row. The first time, I felt like the deli staff were rude and dismissive, but I brushed it off thinking maybe they were having a bad day. Today I went back and unfortunately had the same experience with the same employees. When I asked for a half pound of cheese from behind the counter, the interaction felt cold and unfriendly from the start. What bothered me most was that my 3-year-old daughter was happily waving and saying hello, and she was completely ignored. I know no one is obligated to interact with my child, but simple kindness goes a long way. It made me sad because I remember when grocery stores felt more welcoming and employees took pride in making customers feel valued. Later, another employee seemed annoyed that I was trying to pass while she was hanging signs in the aisle. I waited patiently, thanked her when I got through, and received no acknowledgment. I understand retail is stressful and everyone has bad days, but when nearly every interaction in a store feels unpleasant, it leaves a lasting impression. Customer service doesn’t require much—just basic courtesy and kindness. Unfortunately, after multiple experiences like this, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

  This place dose not take bottles no more they blocked the door and they said they don't take them no more bad service I don't recommend no one to come here at all it sucks
