A lovely find with friendly staff, big flavours and spice levels that actually mean business!
We were greeted with a smile and started with the Dirty Edamame, which was absolutely delicious, full of flavour and a great way to kick things off.
For our mains, we ordered the Jungle Curry and Hot Basil Chicken, both requested spicy. My husband went for spice level 5, while I chose level 3, and both were spot-on. The food had that wonderful balance of heat and flavour. You could really taste the fresh herbs and aromatic spices rather than having the chilli simply overpower everything.
Our friends ordered the Chicken Satay, which was a very generous portion for an appetiser, along with the Som Tum Papaya Salad, which was equally generous and packed with flavour.
We sat outside as it was such a beautiful day, although the interior felt a little stark and quite dark. It wasn’t particularly busy during our lunchtime visit, but I imagine the atmosphere would really come alive in the evening when the restaurant is buzzing.
Overall, we were genuinely impressed. The food tasted authentic, deeply flavoured and properly spicy without sacrificing the subtleties of the herbs and seasonings. The portions were generous, the staff were lovely, and the quality was excellent.
We’d definitely come back, and there are plenty more dishes on the menu calling our name!
