What a beautiful experience.
From the ambiance to the last bite, everything about this dinner was incredible. The atmosphere was perfect for a night out cozy but elevated. The food was outstanding.
Our server Kostainyn made the evening unforgettable. His service was impeccable: professional, friendly, and so attentive. He remembered details, offered great suggestions, and created a dining experience that felt personal and special. It’s rare to encounter someone who cares so much about making guests feel welcome.
We could not have been more pleased with the service, the food, and the atmosphere. This is absolutely a place we’ll return to, and we’re already telling friends to go.
Please make sure to recognize Kostainyn. He is outstanding and deserves every bit of praise. Thank you for a wonderful night.

Our experience at Zuma Vail was disappointing, mainly because of the service we received from our server, Alejandra.
From the beginning, we felt that she was very pushy about what we should order. We explained that we only wanted sushi, sashimi, and rolls, but she did not seem happy with our choice. After we made it clear that we were only interested in sushi, her attitude changed, and we felt like we were receiving dirty looks and an unfriendly attitude throughout the meal.
We understand that servers may have recommendations, but guests should feel comfortable ordering what they actually want without feeling pressured or judged. Unfortunately, the service made us feel uncomfortable and took away from what should have been an enjoyable dining experience.
The food itself was what we came for, but the service really affected our overall impression of Zuma Vail.

Had a really great experience at Zuma! The food was excellent, with every dish beautifully presented and full of flavor. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the whole place had such a great energy throughout the evening.
A special mention to the DJ, who was fantastic and really added to the overall atmosphere with his music. It made the evening feel even more fun and lively, without being too overwhelming.
Overall, great food, great vibes, and a really enjoyable night. The place really stands out from other restaurants in Vail, something this town really needed!

This was an excellent experience. The food quality is some of the best I have ever had. We had Wagyu as well as the Ribeye. Both were superb. We also had the potato (which was fantastic!). We also enjoyed some rolls (fatty tuna and yellow rain). They were excellent as well. We both enjoyed cocktails (she had the Aperol Spritz and I had the Japanese Old Fashion). They were both of high quality. Can’t wait to go back and eat at Zuma again!

I really wanted to love our experience at Zuma Vail, especially because we chose it to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was genuinely excellent, and the atmosphere is beautiful, there’s a lot to like about the restaurant, and the quality of the food itself was worthy of the occasion.
Unfortunately, the experience missed the mark when it came to making the evening feel special.
Despite making a reservation specifically for our anniversary and noting that my wife is pregnant, we were seated at a small two-person high-top right near the entrance. It felt more like an everyday table than a special-occasion setting, and being so close to the entrance took away from the ambience we were hoping to enjoy.
What was particularly disappointing was that the pregnancy note didn’t seem to make it to the staff. We weren’t expecting special treatment, but on an anniversary dinner, those little details matter. We had chosen Zuma because we wanted to celebrate an important moment together and leave feeling like the restaurant had helped make the night memorable.
We also spent over $300 on dinner, and while I certainly don’t expect anything to be free, I was disappointed that there wasn’t even a small gesture such as comping a dessert to acknowledge the anniversary after what felt like an otherwise underwhelming experience from a service and hospitality standpoint.
I’m giving Zuma Vail 3 stars because the food and ambience are genuinely top notch, and I can see why people enjoy the restaurant. But for a restaurant at this price point, I expected the hospitality and attention to detail to match the food.
It’s hard to leave a place after an anniversary celebration feeling like the restaurant missed an opportunity to make the evening feel special because with a little more attention to the details and occasion, Zuma could have delivered a truly memorable experience. Considering giving it another try when we go back in late September the food was that good.
