As a lifelong pizza aficionado, let me start this review by saying the Elk make outstanding pies, not to mention all of their assorted sweet treats. But the real reason I have to give all of my fellow Google travelers my honest feedback is because of the level of friendly service I receive each and every time I visit, especially from David, Alex, and the lovely young lady whose name I will need to learn how to spell correctly before my next review. Ignore the naysayers, the Elk is a Crazy great spot!

Came in with a group of seven people. Both the front and back doors were wide open. Place was open for business. No other customers were in this establishment at the time. It was about 10:45 am. When upon train to place our order, we were informed that they only had breakfast pizza but regular pizza was to be served at 11 am. We decided to wait. While we were waiting the staff informed up we can order now, and then They would just start our food at 11. First 2 people in our group seemed to order just fine. But when anyone else was trying to order, a short man with a beard and ball cap was "barking" at us that we couldn't order til 11 am. Which was confusing, because we were originally told other wise. As I am trying to order he is talking over me, trying to get me to change my order. It was very unprofessional, disrespectful and just rude in the manner he spoke. Like we were a burden. If it wasn't for my child who was hungry honestly I would have just walked out. Now I understand that you don't serve until 11 am, That is completely clear to me, But if you're gonna say, it's okay to pay and start the food at eleven, for some people who are in our group at the front of the line, Then why is it an issue for the next person in line????? Maybe it was my tattoos 🤔 or maybe the fact that I'm in a gay couple that offended this angry??? Way to drop the ball on customer service. Please do better and choose kindness.

We went for lunch on a recent day trip to Telluride. We ordered 2 pizzas and 2 beers. Everything was reasonably priced and the pizza (and ranch) was outstanding. I’d say top 3 pizzas I’ve ever eaten. The pizza was brought out quickly and the servers were incredibly helpful and friendly. Our family played foosball while we waited. The kids had a blast. Restrooms were super clean. We can’t wait to go back next time we’re in town!

Overpriced, undercooked, and no local love.

i understand its closing weekend, but to tell me the kitchen is closed a half hour early was disappointing. Then I said ok we'll just take the whole pizza of "slices" since you wouldn't make a fresh one. Pizza was ice cold and was still charged by the slice even though we bought a whole pizza. Staff was incredible dismissive when i brought this up and was treated like i was a nuisance.
