Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Ordered dinner online and picked up via the drive-through. The staff was very pleasant and brought our order out soon after checking in at the menu board, which is way too bright at night, lol. The food order was correct, everything was hot still when we got home (under 10 mins). The burgers were juicy and cheesy, fries crispy, everything was great! Pricing is kinda high, but that seems to be the trend everywhere lately. I would visit again and maybe order with coupons or deals, if possible.

Came to buy lunch for the family after church. Ordered about $95 worth of food. Not a problem for good food. However I asked for ranch and bbq for dipping sauce, mind you we had 4 kids meals, and I was told I had to pay for them. Almost $4 on 2 bbq and 2 ranch. After all the food we had already purchased it seemed like a slap in the face to be charged extra. Never had that happen before not sure if it’s a location issue or a company wide policy now.

This was my first time trying Whataburger, and unfortunately, the customer service left a really bad first impression. The girl taking my order , seemed to have an attitude from the beginning. I could barely hear her when she spoke, and while I was trying to decide what to order, she kept tapping her fingers like she was impatient and wanted me to hurry up. What made it worse was that the restaurant wasn't even busy. I was the only customer there. I ended up saying never mind because I didn't feel comfortable ordering anymore. I've had completely different experiences at places like In-N-Out, where the employees are usually friendly and make you feel welcome. For my first visit to Whataburger, I definitely didn't expect to feel like I was bothering an employee just by trying to place an order.

I stopped at the new Whataburger in Pueblo for lunch today. It was Whataburger—the food's always great. But my experience there had very little to do with the food. When I pulled in, there was an obviously homeless man standing along the side of the building. With the mirrored windows in front of him, he was shadowboxing with his reflection and thoroughly entertaining himself. While I sat inside eating, I heard employees and customers making comments about him. Before I left, I went outside, introduced myself, and asked him a very simple question: “Have you eaten today?” He said no. I asked what he would like, expecting him to ask for a meal. Instead, he said a peach shake and some onion rings would be amazing. I actually asked him again if that was really all he wanted—no burger, nothing else? Nope. A peach shake and onion rings would be amazing. He never asked me for money. In fact, he never asked me for anything at all. I approached him. So I went back inside and ordered them for him. Once again, there were comments and muttering. Here’s the thing: sometimes being human means seeing the human being inside of circumstances you don't understand. I don't know that man's story. I don't know why he's homeless. I don't know whether he has mental health challenges, and I'm not going to diagnose a stranger from a few minutes of interaction. What I do know is that he wasn't violent or threatening. He wasn't bothering anyone. He was bothering nobody but himself and his reflection in those mirrored windows. He wasn't misbehaving in any way, shape, or form. In fact, he was quite docile. When I treated him with dignity, he responded with kindness, gratitude, and dignity. And that is what bothered me most about what I witnessed inside this restaurant. Every person deserves to be seen as a human being before they are reduced to an appearance, circumstance, behavior, race, income, housing status, or anything else. Many of us know what it feels like to be judged before someone bothers to know us. We should know better than to turn around and do it to somebody else. And he did repay me. He repaid me with the only thing he had that was his to give away: a hug. A full, gracious, glorious hug. It was beautiful. It cost me nothing but a peach shake and some onion rings—and gave me the opportunity to teach a lesson in humanity. It cost everyone else nothing to show him some humanity.
