Honestly the service here was always pretty awful. With the exception of a rare few. The employee at check out seemed to be burdened whenever any form of mild assistance was needed. He is a manager- wears glasses. Don’t know his name. There were a few times where I needed an item simply voided off and removed and It definitely bothered him to have to do such. Once I stood there waiting to get his attention while he had a grand conversation with someone, when I finally politely said excuse me, he didn’t even greet me, quickly removed said item with a bothered demeanor, then abruptly continued about said conversation. Too many other examples regarding his poor service to list. In addition to their high grocery prices, going there generally never felt good due to employees- and I am so glad that king soopers opened down the street. They are absolute opposites; kings soopers makes shopping a good experience- something Safeway should take note of.

This is actually my absolute favorite grocery store.
The employees are incredibly kind and attentive. The managers have always been quick to spot problems. The pharmacy people are actually helpful, and appear to actually have time to spend to help us out. I see the same people time after time in the produce, deli and butcher departments. Brandi in particular has been great.
It's a bit smaller than some of the area grocery stores. Certainly smaller than the terrifying King Soopers behemoth now down the street. (Which I absolutely hate. It should not take 20 minutes just to navigate the chip aisles. And that's PLURAL.)
Meanwhile, in the Safeway, everything runs smoothly, I can get the vast majority of my weekly shopping done, and if something's wrong, I can actually get assistance. The produce is fresh and delicious and quite a wide selection for its size.
Absolutely the only quibble I have is the selection of gluten free products. I'd love to see Jovial pasta, Mission's chickpea tortillas, maybe some Feel Good Foods dumplings, Realgood Foods chicken tenders, King Arthur gf bread flour, Brazi Bites and a couple others that are staples in our house.
With that I could pretty much stop going to the KS altogether, and enjoy my fast grocery trips that accomplish everything we need.

This store is so awful. Out of stock, overpriced, terrible selection, run down, prices are never accurate or they make you jump through hoops with their app that doesn’t work. They never had people scanning or bagging. This place makes my blood boil. I hope something else takes over this space…
