The store is dirty throughout and the bathrooms are atrocious. Considering the way management seems to be running this location it’s no wonder why they’re so short staffed

I had an extremely unpleasant experience at this store today.
I came in simply to buy cigarettes, and from the very beginning, the employee’s attitude was unnecessarily rude and hostile. Before we had even had a normal interaction, he was already speaking to us in an aggressive tone and raising his voice. I asked him directly to stop speaking to us that way.
After that, he told us that he would not sell us cigarettes and that we needed to leave. Eventually, another female employee sold them to me without any issue.
I asked to speak to a manager, and the man told me that he was the manager — which honestly made the entire situation even more concerning.
There was absolutely no reason for this level of hostility. From the moment we walked in, I felt as though he had already decided to treat us with dislike and disrespect before we had even said hello.
I believe that anyone working with customers — and especially someone in a management position — should be capable of basic professionalism, self-control, and respect. I also found his behavior particularly unpleasant and disrespectful toward women.
If this is how a manager feels comfortable treating customers, I can only imagine what kind of working environment the employees under his supervision may experience.
I sincerely hope the ownership or upper management pays attention to this situation and addresses this employee’s behavior. Customers should not have to tolerate unnecessary aggression or disrespect simply for walking into a store and trying to make a purchase.
I also want to separately thank the wonderful woman who helped us afterward. She was incredibly kind, professional, and actually managed to lift our mood after such an unpleasant interaction.
I truly wish her success and growth within the company. I hope management recognizes people like her — she showed excellent composure, emotional intelligence, and an ability to de-escalate a difficult situation.
She handled the situation with far more professionalism and grace than the person who claimed to be the manager. She is exactly the kind of employee who leaves customers with a positive impression, even after something has gone wrong.
Thank you for your kindness — it genuinely made a difference. ❤️

This store closes early so don’t bother coming if you need literally ONE item like I did. I pulled up 3 minutes before they supposedly close at 11 which isn’t true. A couple workers were leaving and one stopped me and said they’re closed for the night. I said it’s 10:57 and she said the registers are closed, sorry. Like I’m sorry but I genuinely needed one thing and would be in and out especially knowing how close I was to the closing time. SOO frustrating.

Found out why there are never pokemon cards for my kids at this stores machine today when we stop by to check. Safeway employees were at the machine buying everything up when my family walked up. I’m sure they know the schedule each day and buy it all up most likely to resell. Bought the machine out right in front of my kids. No point in going here anymore for these and will be shopping for groceries elsewhere from now on as well.

I need to call out a wonderful employee named Eric. This day, he was working in the very hot parking lot collecting carts. I saw him pull out a cart for an elderly woman, help find a working cart for a woman who had her child in one with a sticky wheel, help people take their carts back while he was in his way….all in the 30 minutes I was waiting for my car to be ready. He seemed to anticipate people’s needs and that is such a rarity these days, particularly on such a hot day in a job like his. Watching his compassion made my day.
