I had never been there but it was the chosen spot for a birthday. It was busy (lunchtime) and parking was totally inadequate. The outside patio was nice, but pretty crowded. I had exactly one, that's one, option as a plant based person. A salad, which still had to be adjusted. Even the grilled cauliflower was prepared with butter, and olive oil wasn't an option. One other possibility had cheese. The food others had looked fine enough, but I have to wonder if some of it was house made or Sysco, but I don't know. It was adequate, and the birthday girl was happy, which is what was important. I would probably go again if a friend wanted to meet me there and it was that person's top choice, but I see no reason to go back on my own.

My husband and I went here for the first time tonight. We weren't really impressed. The drinks were tasty and strong but after that it was all a let down. My husband had a burger that he did not finish which is very much not like him. The waitress said they are known for their fried chicken and walleye. So I ordered the walleye, it was edible after I added half a bottle of salt and I didn't even touch the spinach. We also got a chip dip trio for an app and the queso very much tasted like it came from a grocery store somewhere up north. Lastly, we took a cup of clam chowder home because it is a spring special and I love clam chowder. However, the soup is also pretty bland with little flavor. We spent way too much to not enjoy the food we ordered. The staff was very friendly and between them and the drinks I was willing give 3 stars but we will not be back.
I ordered the crab Louis salad. It was the worse salad I think I've ever had. The greens where soaked in a vinegar sauce the the crab was tossed in somewhat of a traditional louis dressing and dumped on top. The vinegar threw the whole taste off. It was terrible! I ended up not eating it. The rest of the meals at the table seemed to be okay... but I wouldn't write home about the food. We sat outside on a beautiful spring day and that alone was great! But don't try the Louis salad.

A Slice of Lakeside Serenity: Lunch at The Lake House Kitchen & Tavern
If you’re looking to escape the hustle and find a place where "time slows down," The Lake House Kitchen & Tavern in Littleton is the perfect destination. Located at 8026 W Bowles Ave, this spot perfectly captures the "polished casual" vibe of a classic American lakeside vacation home.
The Atmosphere: Lakeside Relaxation
We stopped in for lunch and headed straight for the outdoor patio. Overlooking the water, it’s the kind of setting that makes you feel instantly at home. Whether you’re with family or neighbors, the environment is welcoming and unpretentious—exactly what you want for a midday retreat.
The Food: Comfort Done Right
While the menu is vast—boasting everything from Prime Rib and Poutine to Crab Cakes and brunch favorites like Benedicts—we leaned into the classic comfort of their fried specialties.
Fried Fish & Shrimp: Perfectly crispy and fresh, satisfying that quintessential lakeside craving.
Fried Chicken: Golden, juicy, and exactly how it should be done.
The Pairing: Nothing beats washing down a hot, fried meal with a crisp, cold beer while watching the water.
Service & Hospitality
The experience was rounded out by great service that was as warm as the food itself. It’s a "well-oiled machine" that doesn't lose its neighborhood heart.
The Verdict: Between the views, the polished setting, and food that somehow tastes "even better" than it looks, The Lake House is a Littleton gem. We are already looking forward to our next visit—perhaps for their famous Bread Pudding or the Prime Rib next time!
Highly Recommended for: Families, patio lovers, and anyone needing a vacation vibe without leaving Colorado.

My husband and I ate here last night (4-29-26). Appetizers didn’t offer anything we really wanted so we had onion rings and the crab cakes. Crabmeat was canned shreds tasted off. Onion rings at least were hot . We weren’t finished with the appetizers when dinner came to the table. Dinner for him make your own burger mushroom and Swiss medium was good, served with waffle fries that were cold. I had the walleye and shrimp fry, a quarter piece of walleye and 4 or 5 fried shrimp that weren’t moist inside definitely all made ahead of time so they were dry. An enormous pile of waffle fries that were COLD! Seriously!
We even told a gentleman at the hotel bar to skip this place when he asked about it.
