  Frequently low on stock and produce is always wilty. Always hard to find produce bags. Made the mistake of not going to self checkout today (legit because I was trying to be nice as I knew I had marked down items that would have to be approved by an employee). Cashier rang up two bags of cookies as three, missing the coupon on one. I noticed when I got to the car, came back to have it fixed, and the cashier and a manager still couldn’t manage to refund it properly. Like, they refunded one but still didn’t apply the second markdown coupon—yes you can use two. Looked at me like I was stupid when I told them they were wrong. I was hoping this would be my new Safeway after the one near Broadway & Hamden closed, I’ll just stick to the one on Kipling from now on. Also this store owes me $1.50.

  Embarrassed by cashier checking out!!! And forever switching to Amazon I walked into the store At 9:45 PM and was reviewing my shopping list and caught the cashier eyeballing me and then he closed self check out. I think nothing of it and gather my things stopping a few more times to send text so what not. I get in line where he is at the regular register And I see people again, checking out at self check out and think that’s odd He just sent Five minutes ago It was closed. He rings my things up bags it and I hit tap. He hit a couple of buttons on the screen and he says oh it was unable to be processed. I said maybe it’s off I checked and it was on. So I tap again and it goes through the process and then he taps a couple buttons and goes. Oh, it was Unable to be processed again. My card has never been Turn down. He says how about you enter your pin. And the manager walks up from standing on the wall. Now, with the whole scene being made in front of all the customers in line and the manager who was holding the wall up I’m now extremely embarrassed and for a third time attempting to purchase my goods This is profiling 101 So for the third time, I attempt to check out and am forced to use my pin after watching that guy cancel my purchase two previous times in front of the manager and now everything works out perfectly. Profiled and embarrassed intentionally Safeway has lost a lifetime customer with this My grandmother retired from Safeway after 37 years she said nothing but good things about it, but this was Something else

  This is regarding the older gentleman employee who was working at the deli/hot food counter on Friday April 3rd at approximately 10:45 AM. I asked for an 8 piece chicken, and then very politely asked if it would be possible to get two extra thighs instead of the two chicken breasts it normally comes with. Instead of an “oh sorry we’re actually not able to do that,” I got a very aggressive and firm “No!” I was very taken aback by how unnecessary and rude this came across. I have shopped at this Safeway multiple times a week for several years now and have never encountered an employee like this before. To whatever manager is reading this, I would appreciate if you would have a talk with this employee.
