- MWMartin WiesiolekAug 18, 20261.0Just a reminder to myself why I need to stop going to the Safeway on Broadway in Grand Junction, even though it's the closest grocery store to my house. Went in at 8 this morning. Stood at the deli for about seven minutes while three employees were standing there talking. Nobody acknowledged me. Finally I had to loudly ask, “Are you open?” before anyone bothered to help. Then the bakery. Waited another 8 minutes for someone to finally show up, only to be told they had zero fresh-baked goods. The cucumber I picked up in the produce section was mushy. Mentioned my experience to the cashier. Shrug. This Safeway has high prices, spotty selection, and service that seems like an inconvenience to the people working there. Clearly management couldn't care less, so neither should I. I'll have to remember not to be tempted to ever shop there again.
