RARE is an Italian steakhouse located in the heart of Old Town in Fort Collins, Colorado. Inspired by travel experiences in central Italy, RARE offers a rustic, farm-to-table approach to dishes often found in Umbria and Tuscany. RARE’s menus feature fresh, homemade pasta and cheeses, the best in-house dry-aged steaks in Northern Colorado, and an extensive list of New and Old World wines.
We spent a wonderful evening celebrating our son’s graduation at Rare in downtown Fort Collins, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Rare is known for its steaks, and the dry-aged beef was absolutely delicious — flavorful, tender, and expertly prepared.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting with comfortable seating, attentive service, and a great overall vibe that made the evening feel special. If you’re looking for an upscale dining experience with excellent food and service in Fort Collins, look no further than Rare!

This restaurant is the best experience I’ve ever had. It was my first time going, and they gave me a thousand reasons to come back. The food is amazing, the drinks are wonderful, but the best part of all was the service. My server gave me the best recommendations, and the attention was incredible. I will definitely be back.
If you have the chance, choose this wine it will change your life.

This place has great atmosphere and the food we had was great; both the main and the dessert were awesome. The service is top notch as well. Our wait staff was very attentive and helpful. And of course, I managed to leave some apparel behind with an international flight home the next day... the restaurant was extremely helpful in shipping it back to me!
If I'm in the area again, I will definitely be back!

I travel North America weekly and sometimes leave reviews after dining. Steaks are often range from a major disappointment at other than dedicated steak houses, to generally good, but over-salted or soaked in burned butter.
The best steak can only be had at my house by the lake, but when eating out, I occasionally find one worth mentioning. RARE Italian, ordered the ribeye medium rare plus (she knew what I meant), it came out sliced into three pieces and plated over mashed potatoes. RARE Italian, you get the 🌟 on my Google maps favorite places.

Atmosphere: lovely, some group/social dining, very comfortable.
Cocktails: nice, expected, enjoyable.
Service: attentive, polite, friendly, often was almost too quick to bring food, felt slightly rushed on occasion.
Food: appetizers: meatballs, very tender and tasty. Arancini: were good, but strongly flavored. My husband loved them, I did not. Mains: I got the ravioli, perfectly done pasta, but very salty. Overly so in my opinion. Hubbie got the Bolognese, it was delicious, again pasta perfectly cooked. Dessert: got the tirramisu. large portion! But 😒 Very creamy (too much filling) next to NO coffee flavor at all. Actually ordered a shot of espresso and dumped it on top. Made it better. Otherwise, it was like a mild cheesecake, not tirramisu.
Will try again, but with reservations.
