  A real gem! I was doing some work at the library across the street when I noticed this small restaurant on the corner. Despite the somewhat foreboding entrance, this family business is welcoming and exceptionally good. Staff were friendly, and the Pork Chops with gravy, red beans and rice, and cornbread were delicious. I will be returning next time I'm in north Denver!

  So I was visiting a friend about 2 months ago in the neighborhood and came across this restaurant I think it was a Monday or Tuesday and they were closed and since I live out by DIA ( Denver International Airport) about 30 mins away I didn't have the opportunity to go back until today and I have to say not only the smell of authentic soul food welcomed me in the two young ladies at the front were just as welcoming even got the opportunity to share some poetry with them as I waited for my food the ambience of the restaurant was just as welcoming with jazz paintings along the wall and pictures of the owners in the waiting room I had an opportunity to meet one of them and I can truly say I can see where the two female hosts get their kind and warm demeanor upon leaving with my food that same warm embrace that welcomed me in was also there as I was leaving almost like telling a family member I'll see you later now to the food amazing with a capital A felt like you where sitting at a family reunion and mom or grandma just made you a plate I got the catfish with red beans and rice accompanied by the greens like I said Amazing so anytime I have a craving for some good ol down south cooking I will make that trip every time thank you to all the people at the Blazing Chicken Shack II for making my day and you all will see me back soon

  I just wanna say the atmosphere was nice as usual the staff was so welcoming to my family especially the kids. But yes theres a but the food was trash idk if they got a new cook because a few years ago the food was on point. Now the food is tasteless oxtails broke my heart. My family drove so far just to throw the food out. I love supporting black owned businesses but this one just ain't it anymore.

  They clearly don't have customer service in mind the staff is disgustingly rude and they didn't include wastage, shrinkage, or spoilage into their business plan if they're going to yell at customers about wasting food because their staff doesn't know how to take orders and tried to force us to purchase the items we did not want I believe this establishment will soon be a memory clearly they have money problems.

  This place has its hit or miss days. Have been twice. My SO has been a few more. Avge 25$-40$ person.. Great culture . The claimed "soul food" portion of the menu needs some seasoning or some real southern love because it's just not it. Other menu items are pretty good.
