- TJTom JonesSep 9, 20261.0Dear Safeway Customer Support, I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the increasing safety issues and unchecked shoplifting at your store. I have been a loyal customer for a long time, but recent experiences have made me no longer feel safe shopping at Safeway. Today, I witnessed again an individual openly putting items into a backpack. When I alerted an employee, they approached the shoplifter, but the individual simply told the employee to back off and stated they were not allowed to confront him. The shoplifter then continued loading items into their bag and walked out of the store with hundreds of dollars' worth of merchandise. On previous visits, I have seen individuals walk out with expensive wine and large quantities of meat stuffed in a piece of luggage! This environment is concerning for several reasons. Beyond the immediate safety risks to customers and staff, paying customers end up covering the cost of unaddressed theft through higher prices. Due to these safety concerns and corporate policy regarding theft, I have decided to take my business elsewhere. My parents also stopped going to Safeway for the same reason. Many of my neighbors also switch to competitors where they feel safer. I hope Safeway takes action to address these safety and security issues for the well-being of its customers and employees.

The inside of the store is fairly clean with pretty stocked shelves, but the employees here make you feel like you just killed their pets. The pickup/delivery experience I've had with this store is abysmally bad. There's no reason for an order placed at 10am to be late at 6pm and then get home and realize they can't count or pick non-rotten produce.

She helped me at the service desk and when I went to the seafood dept she showed up to assist me there too! All with a smile. Safeway would not need to do surveys with friendly workers like Chenetha.
