  This store is oddly much busier than their outside parking lot suggests. Even with that, however, the store lacked many food options we were looking for, the chip section was drained and their fruit felter suspiciously too soft to risk. The only real place they had well stocked is the candy, which was a moderate selection, but it was at least stocked.

  Be wary of this location’s overpricing at the register. I’ve had enough with this Safeway location. This is probably the 10th time I’ve gone to checkout and the prices rang up differently than what was advertised on the shelf. It’s becoming a pattern, not a one-time mistake. I always double check tags and sale signs while shopping, yet somehow multiple items still come up higher at the register. Then you’re stuck holding up the line while trying to sort it out. It wastes time and makes shopping frustrating. I understand occasional errors happen at any grocery store, but when it keeps happening over and over, customers should be aware and carefully watch their receipts and scanned prices here. Be wary when shopping at this location and verify your totals before paying. Also, please note that their inevitable comment under this will not be genuine. They do not care about my concern, and they will not care about yours. It’s simply a stock, copy and paste answer, with no genuine concern. That’s why all of these reviews are terrible…nothing is ever corrected. Only talked about.

  Please replace Trish at the self-checkout. Today was my 4th visit where she was rude - always rolling her eyes, mumbling things under her breath, as if customers are her biggest problem. Today she was extra bitchy and had to review each item on my self-checkout - acting as if I stole from your store which I clearly didn't , she just wanted to be nasty. She is a rude woman, and she clearly hates her job!! Grocery shopping is already a pain, why make it worse with an unpleasant and rude employees? Please Trish - if you read this, its time to move on to your next job! The customers don't like you anymore than you like them BTW

  I am a student and I came here quite often, people there stare at me and giving me rude looks! Like what is wrong with you people! The community there is not nice at all. Worst experience ever!

  Just purchased a chicken pasta from the grab and go chiller case at this Downing St. location. Drove the 6 minutes to work and walking with it into work I was concerned that it just didn't feel that cold(?)- like barely cool in my hand. I work in hospitality and had a digital probe thermometer on my desk, so I opened it up and temped it. The coolest spot I could find was 55 degrees. Safe holding temp is 41 or lower. And there is no way that it went up 15 degrees in six minutes from the time I left the store. I had no intention of eating that and getting food poisoning. Tried calling the store (twice) to complain and the automated system just put me on indefinite hold- you literally cannot get through to customer service. So I'm out nine dollars, have no lunch today, and this location is making people sick by not checking temps on their prepared foods. And you wonder why Safeway's all over Denver are closing down. Do NOT buy prepared food here.
