If I could rate less on food I would. Not my normal spot but Had someone recommend this place and honestly cannot imagine why!! The chicken shawarma sandwich was garbage. (As pictured) the “garlic” spread was nothing, couple pieces of chicken and covered in lettuce…nothing else!! The sweets were dry and lacked much of anything. Horrible excuse for Middle East cuisine

Jerusalem Restaurant is a absolute gem! The food here is incredible the gyro sandwich was packed with flavor, and the dolmas were fresh and perfectly seasoned. The biggest surprise was their massive dessert selection. They had so many delicious options to choose from, but I went with the classic baklava and a ma'amoul cookie, both of which were fantastic. On top of that, the staff was awesome and super welcoming. Plus, the fact that they're open late makes it the ultimate go-to spot for late-night a late night bite!

Bought this pastry 4 hours ago, got home, took a bite from it and it stone solid. This restaurant has kept this pastry in the display for weeks. I was going to leave more details about your "in house' pita but it's not worth my time. I thought that just the pita was completely dry, but it turns out that your pasties are completely dry also. I honestly had high hopes about your restaurant, but I am completely dissapointed. Honestly if only the pita bread would of been dry I would of not said anything, but I will never tolerate stone dry patties.

I hate leaving bad reviews but this was just not good and so disappointing all around. Food: My chicken shawarma sandwich was dry and flavourless. It was basically just chicken pieces and lettuce inside a pita. I asked for tahini sauce and didnt get any. The fries tasted like baked McCain fries. There were TWO lettuce ends/roots in my sandwich, which makes me wonder whether it was this persons first time making sandwiches?? Service: left a lot to be desired and we had to reorder items and ask for sauces multiple times because the person wasn’t taking any notes. Come on man. Still on the hunt for a middle eastern place in Denver that I wouldn’t be embarrassed to take my parents to.

This is truly one of the most disappointing shawarma experiences I’ve had. I am in shock. My pinky is up. The restaurant itself is cute and small, but unfortunately there was a serious fly problem. I kid you not, there were at least 8 flies surrounding our table, which really affected the experience. I’m not one to criticize my own community, but when something I love is not represented well, I have to be honest. I got the shawarma chicken sandwich and it was terrible. Now obviously it was not going to compare to the amazing, mouthwatering shawarmas I’ve had from Syria and Lebanon, and I was not expecting that. But I was at least expecting something somewhat close. To start off, I was already surprised by the way the shawarma was made. Lettuce, onion, and tomatoes are not what I expect to find in a traditional chicken shawarma sandwich. Shawarma should focus on the chicken, sauce, and the flavors that make it what it is. I obviously asked for those to be removed after seeing it on the menu. While reading what else was included in the sandwich, I saw the sauce listed. In a chicken shawarma sandwich, I was expecting garlic sauce, but instead it came with tahini. This was very surprising to me because garlic sauce is such an important part of chicken shawarma, so I asked for garlic sauce instead. The food comes and I’m already hoping for the best. The bread it was wrapped in was not traditional shawarma bread. It was the same thick bread I buy from Arash and Fresh Market. I have literally made Nutella sandwiches with this same bread. It is too thick and crumbly for shawarma. Shawarma needs a thin pita, even thinner, almost see-through. This was not. When I looked inside my sandwich, there was still tahini sauce. Thankfully I asked for garlic sauce on the side because without it the sandwich would have been tasteless. The garlic sauce itself also did not have much flavor. The shawarma also did not have any pickled vegetables, which shocked me because they are such an important part of the sandwich. The chicken was also too thick and did not feel like shawarma chicken. I did not have the highest expectations walking into a shawarma restaurant in Denver, but I truly expected more than this. The baklava was okay, but not the best. Being labeled as a Palestinian restaurant, I was genuinely disappointed by the shawarma because this is one of my favorite foods. I really hope they improve the bread, chicken, sauces, and overall shawarma because the service was good and I would love to come back and have a better experience.
