Barwaaqo

Barwaaqo is a Somali restaurant in Denver serving halal East African food from early morning until evening. If you've never tried Somali food before, this is a great place to start. Breakfast runs from 5 AM through noon — warm canjeero bread, slow-cooked fuul, scrambled eggs, spiced tea, and hearty beef stew. For lunch and dinner, the menu has rice and meat platters with lamb, goat, beef, or chicken. The lamb shank is slow-cooked and comes with rice and fresh salad. They also do Somali spaghetti, grilled salmon, fried fish, a halal chicken wrap, and an East African gyro. Casual strip mall spot on East Mississippi Ave, easy to get in and out of. Good for families or a quick halal lunch. Open daily until 8 PM weekdays, 9:30 PM on weekends.
