When I entered, several white customers were also arriving. The elderly woman working the host stand acknowledged them, spoke with them, and seated them. I told her I was there for an online pickup and waited for her to return. My order was visibly sitting on the counter behind the host stand. When she came back, she did not acknowledge me. Instead, she turned her back and began flipping through a coupon book on the same counter. I said โexcuse meโ three separate times and received no response. Then two white gentlemen walked in, and she immediately turned around to acknowledge them. One of the gentlemen actually pointed toward me and told her that I was already standing there waiting. I told her the order sitting beside her was mine. She said she could not take my order, said something else I could not understand, and walked away to get another employee. That employee acknowledged me immediately, and I collected my food. I want to make clear that I did not argue with this woman, raise my voice, confront her, make a scene, or say anything about how I felt I was being treated. I simply retrieved my food and left. What disturbed me was watching her readily acknowledge and assist white customers who arrived both before and after me while ignoring me, even after I politely tried to get her attention three times. I cannot say what was in her mind. I can only describe what happened. But as a black customer, the difference in treatment was impossible to ignore and felt discriminatory. I have patronized this restaurant regularly and have never had this issue with its other employees, which makes the experience especially disappointing. After today, I no longer feel comfortable giving this business my money.

He had a lot of tables inside and we were still made to feel like a priority for him. He was extremely friendly, attentive, and gave good recommendations. We both had the stuffed sopapillas, and they were delicious. The horchata was also really good. Absolutely will go back when weโre in the area!
