The GREAT: the service at the pharmacy is uniformly superb. I especially wish to commend the manager, Calvin, along with Russell, Johnny and Isiah. This pharmacy has so often gone above and beyond for me. They're the absolute best!! The GOOD: The selection here and the staff is very helpful. Overall, they are nice and friendly people who are great to deal with. Lastly, the HORRIBLE and the HORRENDOUS. Several weeks back, I had the absolute misfortune to deal with an individual by the name of Sherry with what should have been a simple matter. I attempted to return an item without a receipt. Further, since I forgot to ring it up with my phone number it did not appear on the store app. This individual, in very nasty and condescending fashion, flatly refused to help, even though I even offered to take partial store credit. After this, I did need to pick up two items so I Started to walk further into the store. At this point, she tells me three times, "You can leave!" After advising her that she does not dictate to me, she proceeded to call the police and described what I look like. At NO time did I yell, curse at or otherwise abuse this individual. I Subsequently met with the store manager Steve, who was every bit as nasty, disagreeable and arrogant as Sherry. All of this, despite my advising the manager at the very beginning of our conversation that I have shopped at Safeway continuously since 1977 and at the Havana store since the day it opened. Further, Steve proved to be devoid of a hint of ANY ethics and is thoroughly and totally dishonest. These two experiences are hands down the two worst interactions I have ever had with anyone at any store-- EVER. In addition, I contacted corporate a number of times. They totally failed to help me resolve the situation nor did they seem to care. It is sad and utterly outrageous that Safeway would choose to have such people representing the store in ANY way. This review would have been four or five stars if not for two employees who neither care about their jobs or helping anyone. Given the two wretched experiences in question, I could not possibly consider better than a two-star review. I am appalled and disgusted that Safeway would even employ these two people. This begs a truly pressing question---exactly what will be done about it???

So it has taken me a while to post this, but it keeps bugging me. I was at this store about a week and half ago and wanted to get salmon since it was on sale. The clerk that worked on the meat/ seafood department helped me and was a very nice and friendly guy. But, it bugged me soooooo bad that he wore the same purple gloves after helping another customer to touch the door , the front of the glass case and cut up the seafood after touching a steak. After he helped me he wore the same gloves and I saw him wash them instead of changing the gloves and washing his hands. I was getting ready to check out and I saw the same guy getting meat from the front with those same gloves and I told the lady at the front I want the food, because I was afraid to get sick especially with this parasite thing going on. The clerk said what's wrong with washing your gloves if you don't want the salmon I'll take it, but didn't know how to cook it. I have not been back to the meat department. Do they not have OSHA? It's crazy as I'm an infection prevention nurse and my mind was going crazy. Be careful out there everyone.

Usually love this place, thought it was one of the better Safeways I’ve been to. But today I paid $7 for some corn on the cobb and got home to realize it’s molding over. Best use by date the 16th (today). Either they’re trying to hide it so they can sell it or someone’s not doing their job. Found this with the milk too, they refuse to not sell stale food. Won’t be going back and you shouldn’t either

We are doordashers, we got an order and went to starte shopping it was 45 items, so obviously it was going to take us awhile, we kept acknowledging that they were closing soon but our DoorDash customer had to approve some substitutions, then they came and told us they were closed and we told them we just needed one more item, but we ended up being escorted to check out by the employees it wasnt the security guy he was actually nice, and then we went to check out and there was a short white lady telling us in a very rude manner that they been saying they were union and they were closing even tho another employee let them know it was a DoorDash order, it wasn’t our personal shopping. She didnt care and kept mumbling under her breath, another lady also kept mumbling “we told you guys we were closing” If thats the case you guys shouldnt allow orders to go thru so late. Will be reporting to Doordash as well, since we couldnt get our customer their last item, because its the way were making a living. Hopefully we never get a order from this location again.
