The restaurant did not have the roasted peppers I had paid an additional $4.40 for, so I asked for a refund for that topping. I never asked anyone to cancel my order. Instead, the cashier, who identified herself as Ashley, canceled my entire order, including the items I had redeemed through rewards. Those rewards were then lost, and I was expected to pay for those items when placing the order again. The supervisor initially declined to provide his name and later said it was Julio. The reluctance to provide names left me questioning whether the names given were accurate and feeling that they wanted to avoid accountability. I also watched a perfectly good pizza get thrown in the trash when the only issue was the missing roasted peppers. I was not asking for free food. I simply wanted my pizza at the correct price, without paying for a topping they could not provide. A replacement pizza was then burned and also discarded. This was an unnecessary waste of food and added to the delay. The way the situation was handled also left me uncomfortable with the cleanliness and handling of my food. I felt compelled to keep watching its preparation because I had lost trust in the staff. I don’t know whether anyone tampered with my food, but I should never have been made to feel that concerned. The entire ordeal took more than an hour, and I still ended up paying the original amount despite not receiving the roasted peppers. A straightforward $4.40 refund turned into lost rewards, wasted food, and a lengthy wait. No one took ownership or provided a satisfactory resolution.
