We chose to come here for Mother’s Day, and initially things started off well. We were seated right away as a party of four, which was greatly appreciated, especially on such a busy holiday. Unfortunately, the dining experience itself did not live up to expectations.
Service throughout the meal was noticeably slow. After receiving our drinks, we had to wait for our server to return before we could even get straws. While two of the four meals at our table were perfectly fine, the other two were very disappointing.
I ordered the 9oz filet cooked medium with fully loaded mashed potatoes. After an extremely long wait for our entrees, my steak arrived well done instead of medium. The fully loaded mashed potatoes were flavorful, but they were also very lumpy. When my steak was taken back to be corrected, my potatoes were removed as well, leaving me with no food at all while the rest of my table ate their meals.
When my replacement plate finally arrived, the steak was now medium rare instead of medium, and the “fresh” fully loaded mashed potatoes were just as lumpy as before. At that point, I was simply tired of waiting and hungry, so I accepted it and ate what I could. The flavor of the steak itself was actually very good, which made the experience even more frustrating because the kitchen clearly has potential. I specifically chose this restaurant on Mother’s Day hoping for a quality steak dinner without an extremely long wait elsewhere.
Another person in our group ordered a medium rare steak, but hers was cooked to three completely different temperatures throughout the steak, which showed a major lack of consistency from the kitchen.
Mother’s Day is one of those occasions where moms simply want to relax and enjoy a good meal without having to cook or clean. Unfortunately, that was not the experience we had. The long waits, inconsistent cooking temperatures, and overall lack of attention to quality really took away from what should have been a special dinner.
The manager did offer a 15% discount, which I appreciated, but honestly it did not feel like enough considering the issues with the meals and the overall experience. Great company saved the evening, but the food and service definitely did not justify the price we paid.
