It was rectangular; every rib eye cap I've ever had has been round? Wife has a pasta dish which was boring. Branzino was very good. Also, both my wife and I had upset GI tracts the next morning.

The apple baked Alaska was the perfect way to finish the meal. Matt took excellent care of us throughout the evening, and Emma, the manager, stopped by to make sure everything was just right. We left very impressed and will definitely be returning!

- DODarren OdomSep 1, 20263.0We chose Catch Steak in Aspen for dinner to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, and unfortunately the experience was pretty underwhelming. The restaurant was only about 20% occupied, yet we were seated rather awkwardly in the middle of the dining room despite the staff knowing it was our anniversary. That alone wasn’t a huge issue, but it set the tone for an evening that never really felt special. The cocktails were the first real disappointment. We quickly learned that the cocktail menu was essentially pre-mixed, and when we asked whether they could make something a little different or special for the occasion, the response was basically that the cocktails were already prepared that way. What we had hoped for was something more along the lines of, “Absolutely, let me see what we can do for your anniversary,” even if that meant suggesting a variation using the same spirits. Instead, it felt like the conversation simply stopped there. Dinner itself was fine. The food was good, the steak was adequate, but nothing was particularly memorable or surprising. At this price point, especially for a milestone dinner, we expected a little more. To their credit, toward the end of the evening the maître d’ seemed to recognize that our experience had been lackluster and offered us a complimentary dessert. It was beautifully presented and genuinely appreciated. Overall, there was nothing terrible about the meal, but there also wasn’t much that would bring us back. For our 20th anniversary, we were hoping for a little warmth, attentiveness, and sense of occasion, and unfortunately that was mostly missing.
