They take lasagna seriously! What a luscious dinner at the restaurant AND then at home the next night. My son wolfed down the chicken parmigiana, and crisp Caesar salad, not because he was still hungry but because he couldn't stop himself! This is a small, friendly, neighborhood, no-nonsense Italian kitchen. the portions are generous, the staff gregarious, the atmosphere unpretentious. It is a family-owned business that pays respect to their heritage by adding love to the food they serve.
Went with a couple girlfriends for lunch. The Chicken Tuscany Truffle Pasta was recommended and did not disappoint. Portions were generous, although you go to the counter to order and the place is small enough and popular enough to limit table use to ones hour ( which they did not enforce), There is a server(owner?) who visits your table to see if you need your water topped off. A basket of warm bread is brought to your table right away, which is delicious! I plan to return with family.

Grand experience! Shared a Reuben, side salad, and the coconut shrimp with my Mom. We had more than enough and everything was so fresh and delicious. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes!!

Main dish(Cajun shrimp and sausage pasta) was oversalted and spicy. The pasta was almost uneatable because of that, HOWEVER, they did remake it for us to go, easing up on the seasoning a tad they said, though the staff did remark that the sausage and ingredients are naturally of a more salty nature, so I will update when we eat it at home! 😁 The appetizer(coleslaw and seared tuna)was a yummy bite size "food before the food" but I felt like there was a little too much coleslaw with not enough dressing (and not enough tuna(6 little pieces))
All the employees are absolute GEMS. Pleasant, attentive, quick to help and remove dirtied plates or clean off tables. They were also quick to remake our entree that was less than ideal.. The friendly staff definitely translated over to this location in spades, hoping that the food will continue to improve, because its a great location for bigger sized dinner parties!

So this was the 1st time I had been at Nates. I love the no frills, just good food atmosphere. Pretty much everything is self serve, and I love it. Gives more time for the employees to concentrate on making sure all the patrons are doing good, filling up drinks, or joking around. Let me tell you, the food is fabulous, huge servings, and could barely eat almost half my Lasagna. My son ordered the Steak and Spinach pasta😳 This literally melted in my mouth. Ribeye was tender, and the blue cheese sauce is to die for. Wife ordered the seared salmon, with vegetables, and my other son, the meatballs and pasta. We all had a little taste, of each others plate. Again, was unbelievably delicious. This is now my favorite Italian restaurant. We all had to take the rest of our meals home. The next day, had to have the leftovers, and was even better. The service was outstanding, always making sure everyone had what they needed. Standing ovation to the cooks, and staff. Make sure you tip both the staff, and cooks, as they do work hard. Definately will bring friends, and recommend people try the food here. 👍👏🏼
