  Came in on a busy night, our first visit. After a 15 minute wait we were seated by our server, Chris. My husband and I are local restaurant owners, and can't help but be dialed in to what's happening when we sit down to eat out at local restaurants. Food was great, place was packed with great energy, and Chris gave us the best service we've had out for at least 5 years. Drinks never got close to empty, chips flowed, orders were taken promptly. Thanks for the great food and fabulous service :)

  I took Tucson visitors to four Mexican restaurants. They all voted Amelias Kitchen to be the best by far. I agree. Dishes have names found at other places, but everything I have tried is a cut above the same dish elsewhere. Salsas have more depth, mole sauce is extra rich, tortillas are perfect, and presentations are gorgeous.

  Had a birria burrito Christmas style red/green was so good also had birria nachos great appetizer probably my new favorite Mexican place in Tucson also shout out to leyda best sever ever have been with her through 2 different restaurants actually the only reason I came here she’s the best of the best and very well attentive I would trust her with any recommendation she knows what’s she’s talking about

  Amelia's is easily my favorite Mexican restaurant in Tucson. We always make a reservation because the secret is out and they're generally packed! I highly recommend the al pastor burro with green enchilada sauce - it's out of this world. Their salsas are fantastic. The decor is lovely and their drinks (both NA and A) are delicious. Our group always leaves feeling satisfied!

  I’ve been to the Grant location several times, but this location left us very disappointed. I’ve had great food before at Amelia’s and wanted to bring my mom, a restaurateur of 25 years, to try it. Unfortunately, the service and food were a disaster here. We asked our server for some lemon slices for our water three times only to see him chitchatting with the other waiters. We got plates literally covered in soap bubbles. We asked for different plates, but the food came out, and we were waiting on plates before we could eat. About halfway through the meal, the chef came out and replaced our chips apologizing that the ceviche should have came out with a different type of chip than those that come with the salsa. Our server did not know about the difference. Additionally, he didn’t seem to know the menu, as he called our menudo “pozole.” This so called “menudo” was 99% hominy with 3 small pieces of tripe. The broth tasted like water. The manager clarified that their staff are trained on mixing the proper proportions before serving the soup, but this obviously did not happen. The rice with our quesabirria tacos was raw. We were honestly very disappointed with the inconsistency tonight. The manager came out and apologized, but the waiter was defensive. I was once a fan but probably will not be returning tonight.
