My only problem is that they sacrifice human life for fast service time. Shouldn't be taking orders from outside in 110 degree weather. Not cool at all. Do better.

Visited Portillo’s in Tempe—super busy but the staff was friendly and efficient. The drive-thru was fast, and the Chicago dog was delicious, though the first time I got way too much sauce (now they’ve got it just right). Cheese sauce is amazing but extremely hot—let it cool a bit! Fries were salty and good. Portions are generous for the price, and parking was tight but manageable. Would definitely come back!

I love this place. I just wish they would give me all of my gravy. When I ordered it a little net, they're perfect. They're fast, they're delicious. And they usually don't make mistakes

Spring 2024 Hostile environment, untrained staff, and unsafe customer dynamicsI will not be returning to this location after witnessing a deeply disturbing and potentially dangerous incident caused entirely by the staff’s hostility and lack of training. The Incident:Last Friday around 6:30 PM, an older delivery driver was standing in the designated delivery pickup area checking his phone for a prepaid order. An elderly female employee carrying trays aggressively confronted him, loudly demanding he go to the back of the regular ordering line. When the driver politely explained his order was already ready for pickup, a second employee—the cashier—joined in, yelling at him and accusing him of cutting the line in front of the entire restaurant. The Escalation:By publicly humiliating this driver over standard pickup protocols, the employees instigated a hostile chain reaction. A nearby customer began mocking the driver, which led her aggressive male companion to stand up and threaten to "handle the situation" physically. The staff completely lost control of the environment they created, nearly causing a physical altercation over absolutely nothing. The Truth:When the driver finally reached the front of the line, the cashier silently handed him the order that had been sitting there the entire time. She knew she was wrong and couldn't even look him in the eye. This driver was subjected to intense hostility, disrespect, and physical intimidation for a $3.75 payout, all because Portillo's staff does not understand their own mobile pickup policies. My family members do delivery work, and it disgusts me to see a corporation allow its employees to put workers in harm's way. Management needs to review their security footage from Friday night and retrain this staff immediately. We are done doing business here.
