She has celiac disease and is very sick right now, so her ability to eat is extremely limited. The young man helping me had no idea what our family is walking through. But when I went to pay, he kindly waved me off and said something about Mother’s Day and covered the meal. I told him it was actually for my very sick daughter, but I was so caught off guard by his kindness that I didn’t even catch his name. So if you happen to remember the mom ordering only rice, beans, and chips on Mother’s Day… thank you. Your small act of kindness meant far more than you know. I walked out with tears in my eyes because in the middle of a very hard season, you made me feel seen and cared for. Thank you for employing people with hearts like his. Kindness matters, and I will never forget that moment.
