The service was ok,some the workers dont understand what your saying and they were all over the place!I heard one say were almost out of chips and sauce. The chips were gross and dark. The food was small portion for price, not a cheap place. For it just opening not long ago with alot of promises day I ate there not looking good, took time to get food. The meals and chicken super expensive compared to other places. The world is backwards you think you would pay more for fried chicken cause cost more to make but you pay more for healthy cheaper stuff.
Ordered from drive thru. Got home. Order was shorted. Had ordered and paid for 4 pieces of chicken and only got 3. Wasn't driving back there in the rain. It wouldn't have been so bad except the chicken pieces were pretty small and the 2 sides were ridiculously small too. I know how to cost out food. I can't believe I paid almost 17 dollars for what I got, I hadn't been to EPL in a long time because there wasn't one locally. Used to love that place. Was so thrilled when they opened one in PV. But I'm not going back. No thanks.

THE CHURRO INVESTIGATION: A PHOTO ESSAY
I have included evidence. Please refer to Exhibit A.
On the left: churros from Arturo's. Golden. Glistening. Absolutely coated in cinnamon sugar. You can SEE the crystals. It's a churro doing what churros were put on this earth to do.
On the right: whatever these are. Bare. Naked. Sad. A churro-shaped object that has clearly never met cinnamon and has only heard about sugar secondhand.
This is the third time. THE THIRD TIME.
And here's the part that really gets me. This time I asked. Out loud. With my mouth. "Do these come with cinnamon and sugar?" I was assured, with confidence, that they do. That's not a misunderstanding, that's a plot twist.
Look, I've made peace with a lot of things. But a churro without cinnamon sugar isn't a churro. It's a fried breadstick with dreams. It's a sad tube. It's a dough baton. You could hand this to me in the dark and I'd assume you were giving me something structural.
The dinner, for the record, was genuinely delicious. That's what makes this so painful. Y'all are clearly capable. Somebody back there is nailing the chicken. But the churro station has apparently unionized and stopped receiving deliveries of the two cheapest ingredients on the planet.
Cinnamon. Sugar. That's the whole ask. They're not exotic. They're not seasonal. They're in every kitchen in America and probably in your break room right now.
This is not rocket science. This is shaking a bag.
Four stars, and all four were ONLY for the dinner; 0 stars for dessert.

This experience today was so messy I don’t know where to begin, so I’ll just start off by saying my wife and used to eat at EPL for decades both in LA and Phoenix. We moved to the Prescott area and were excited to try this local EPL as it’s the only one around.
To start, my black beans were refrigerator cold, real cold! and I had to go ask for hot beans. I can’t for the life of me understand how that could happen unless the food quality checks are poor or non-existent there. So almost 7 minutes later I finally recieved my hot black beans but they were in a small to go container instead of being as large a portion as the plate had to start with.
Secondly, my wife and I were shocked that we have to now pay for a drink separately even though we ordered the meals. It was never like that before. For mine, my wife and a child’s plate we spent $45.00, way out of line for such poor quality as our chicken felt dry and somewhat rubbery!
The air conditioning was not working and it was hot and humid inside the entire restaurant (others were complaining as well), the place was so damn loud we we couldn’t even hear ourselves talk as the acoustic are awful. The other part that had us scratching our heads was the lack of salsa/guacamole bar! Every EPL has them that itself was upsetting to us.
All in all, it was a very poor experience and one where I should report them to the Yavapai county health department for the cold black beans as that could be a health hazard. We will never return and cannot recommend this place to anyone. The old KFC that was there, while closing down had way better quality chicken and service.
We will never return.

I'm very happy we finally have a location here in Prescott Valley, and I know this is a new store, so I can imagine, like all new businesses, it can take a while to get into a successful groove. However the consistency in food and service isn't quite there yet at this location. Every time I've ordered, it's been different. I'm a repeat offender of the Original Pollo Bowl, always no pico, no onions, no cilantro, add jack cheese and sour cream. So I generally know what to expect, however, the 4 times I've ordered it from this location so far, it's been different every time. The 1st time, opening day, I ended up being charged almost $11. The girl made it a meal and added the queso cheese ($1.60 vs jack cheese $0.65) and somehow between 4 employees, I made it out with nearly 1/2 of the size it normally is finally get the cheese I asked for/originally ordered. The next 3 times it was too much rice/incorrect portion ratios; not enough ingredients at all, or barely a sprinkle of cheese. With that all being said, I heard the owner of this location, also owns the one in Phoenix on 7th St/ Bell, and they're consistency/quality/ service is ALWAYS on point!, so I'll continue to order and update my review if(hopefully WHEN) these guys get up to par with their other store. I will say this however, the chicken quality itself, has always been 💯!, the great El Pollo chicken I expect and have ordered across the US!!
