I would like to submit a formal complaint regarding a very disappointing experience I had at the Whataburger location on Friday, June 26, 2026, at approximately 1:45 AM.
I arrived at this location and ordered Combo Number 1 through the drive-thru. When I reached the payment window, there was a young African female employee and a young Latino male employee working. The young man instructed me to pull my car forward and told me that my food would be brought out to me shortly.
I followed his instructions and parked ahead. I noticed that the vehicle behind me was also asked to pull forward. About 10 minutes passed, and no one brought me my food. Eventually, the young man came outside carrying food, but it was for the car behind me, not mine.
After another 5 minutes, he finally brought my order. I parked so I could eat, and that is when I realized that both the burger and the french fries were completely cold.
I decided to drive back through the drive-thru and politely asked if they could remake my order. The young African female employee told me yes, that they would make it again.
However, when I arrived back at the service window and waited for my replacement order, the same young Latino employee immediately began looking toward the parking lot and again instructed me to move my vehicle forward and wait.
This time, I told him that I would not move my car again and that I preferred to wait at the drive-thru window for my food.
He repeatedly insisted that I move my vehicle, but I refused.
Then the young African female employee came to the window and told me that if I did not move, she was going to call the police.
I responded by telling her that if she wanted to call the police, that was fine.
Shortly after that, the young Latino employee returned to the window and, in a mocking manner, told me that I was wasting my time because the restaurant manager had instructed them to tell me that they were not going to remake my food.
As customers, we do not deserve this type of treatment, especially after already paying for our food. There is absolutely no reason customers should be threatened with police simply because they are requesting that cold food be replaced.
I used to be a loyal customer of Whataburger, but after this experience, I will never return to that location again.
Very close to that restaurant there is In-N-Out Burger, and after this experience, I can honestly say the service there is far better.
I hope this complaint is taken seriously so that future customers are treated with the respect they deserve.
