    I love tropical smoothie cafe and go weekly. I tried this location because it is close to my work and I won't be back. When I walked in a thin young black girl with a nose ring was at the register. I asked her "how's it going?" And she said nothing and stared at me. Then she said "picking up?" It just seemed rude and lacking basic communication. Like she couldn't be bothered to use complete sentences or look at me. I ordered my smoothie and she said "that it?" Not "is that it?" or "will that be all?" . Not pleasant or kind at all. And she was very hard to hear plus they were playing loud rap music.

    I have been a loyal Tropical Smoothie customer for 15 years. It is one of my favorite places to eat. In fact, as a business owner, I regularly take my employees there for lunch as a reward for their hard work. Unfortunately, today I had an extremely frustrating and unpleasant experience that completely ruined my vacation. I placed an order totaling exactly $88.19, which I never received. I called the store, and they told me that they use third-party delivery services (DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc.) and that the person who picked up my order stole it. I believe that whatever delivery system they choose to use is not my responsibility, since I purchased the food directly through their app. However, they refused to refund my money, resolve the issue, or even simply remake the food and give it to me, despite the fact that I physically went to the store myself after having to take an Uber to get there. I am extremely disappointed with this system and with the lack of commitment and appreciation shown to me as a customer after so many years of loyalty. I do not recommend purchasing from this location, and it is a shame that they are part of the Tropical Smoothie chain. According to them, what happened is not their problem. They told me that the solution is for me to seek reimbursement directly from DoorDash, even though I was never informed that DoorDash would be handling the delivery. If I do not resolve the issue myself, I lose all of my money, and they have no intention of doing anything about it. Do not come to this location. They are disrespectful, irresponsible, and have absolutely no appreciation for their customers. I WILL NEVER COME BACK.

    My husband, two friends and I ordered about $80 worth of food for delivery straight from their app. They were the ones who selected and set up the delivery service, we were not aware what delivery service they use. The order was supposedly picked up by the driver but never arrived. The doordash driver wrote to my friend explaining that he was at the store picking up the food and the food was gone. Doordash tried contacting the store but they never answered the phone. When we called the store, the manager refused to take any responsibility whatsoever. She just told us to contact the delivery company ourselves and offered no refund, no replacement, and no help at all. We had to take an Uber to get to this location and tried to fix the issue. The manager’s complete lack of customer service was disappointing and unprofessional. She set a poor example for the young staff working there. Instead of trying to make things right, she showed zero empathy or willingness to resolve the issue. Neither of us had ever eaten at this location before, and after this experience we never will again. I strongly recommend that no one orders from this Tropical Smoothie. They clearly do not stand behind their orders or care about their customers. Save your money and go somewhere else. Extremely disappointed.

    I am extremely disappointed and upset with the Tropical Smoothie location at 4750 S 48th St, Phoenix, AZ 85040. We placed a direct order for approximately $80 worth of food to be delivered to our room at the Marriott hotel. The restaurant chose and arranged the delivery service (whether Uber, DoorDash, or another third party—we were never told exactly which). The food was supposedly “picked up” by the driver, but it never arrived. When we contacted the store, the manager refused to take any responsibility. She simply told us to contact the delivery company ourselves and washed her hands of the entire situation. No refund, no replacement, no willingness to make it right. It is completely unfair and unacceptable that the restaurant chooses the delivery partner and then claims zero accountability when the order disappears. They prepared the food, they selected the service, and they should stand behind their order. Instead, we were left out $80 with no food and no resolution. It honestly makes you wonder what actually happened to the order—especially when the restaurant is so quick to avoid responsibility. The manager’s attitude and lack of customer service made the situation even worse. She set a terrible example for what appeared to be mostly young employees just trying to do their jobs. Her unwillingness to help or even show basic empathy was shocking and unprofessional. This experience was truly sad and frustrating. I would strongly advise anyone reading this to avoid this Tropical Smoothie location entirely. Do not waste your money here. They clearly do not value their customers or stand behind their service. Never again.

    I had a very disappointing experience. I spent over $80, but I never received my food or a refund. They stole my money and food. The manager himself, who should be setting the standard and properly training the employees, handled the situation poorly and refused to take responsibility. The lack of professionalism and customer service was unacceptable. This is by far one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had, and I would not recommend this place. The Arizona Attorney General’s Office investigates consumer complaints involving deceptive or unfair practices in the sale or advertisement of goods or services. The Attorney General has the authority to bring civil enforcement lawsuits under the Consumer Fraud Act (A.R.S. §44-1521 et seq.) and other state and federal consumer protection laws. A private citizen may also bring an action for a violation of the Consumer Fraud Act within one year from the date the claim arises. The Consumer Information and Complaints Unit reviews all consumer complaints. Complaints and investigations with the Office are confidential and cannot be disclosed to the general public.
