It’s so hard to have fresh tasting bbq right near closing time. I was prob their 2nd to last customer that day but the brisket was incredible! Ribs we great and the hot link was a great compliment. The guy working recommended kiwi lemonade and it was really good, they have tons of flavors. I don’t review bad bbq places because it’s a tough business, but these fellas know how to smoke. Found this place just waiting for my kids soccer practice to end. Can’t wait til we practice here again. Soccer sucks but this makes it worth it

We had an outstanding experience with Sweet Magnolia Smokehouse!
Our company was in town from Texas for a Lunch & Learn we were holding at a local power plant, and we found ourselves needing catering for 20 people on very short notice. I reached out on a Sunday evening, not expecting to hear anything until later in the week, but Derry replied to my email almost immediately. Then, as soon as they opened on Monday morning, Derry gave me a call, took our order, and made the entire process incredibly easy.
Despite the short notice, they were able to accommodate our company lunch and everything went flawlessly. The delivery arrived right on time, exactly as promised, and they made sure we had everything we needed—including utensils, napkins, and all the essentials. It made hosting our event completely stress-free.
Derry was absolutely fantastic to work with from start to finish. His communication, professionalism, and willingness to help made all the difference.
And the food... absolutely phenomenal! Everyone at our Lunch & Learn raved about it. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared.
I can't thank Derry and the team enough for coming through for us. I would HIGHLY recommend Sweet Magnolia Smokehouse to anyone looking for amazing BBQ, exceptional customer service, and reliable catering. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Arizona!
Sweet Magnolia Smokehouse — Told the Way a Southerner Would Tell It
Now let me paint this picture for you the way a Mississippi storyteller would, slow and sweet like molasses on a warm biscuit.
You’re drivin’ down Chandler Boulevard, mindin’ your business, headin’ toward Ahwatukee, and the desert sun’s doin’ what it does best. But then — then — something catches you. Not a billboard, not a neon sign… no, sugar, it’s the air.
That Mississippi air.
That lifestyle air.
That “somebody’s been cookin’ all day and they know exactly what they’re doin’” air.
It curls around your car like a whisper from home. Sweet barbecue smoke, slow‑cooked comfort, the kind of scent that makes you roll your window down without even thinkin’. And right there, tucked between Chandler, Phoenix, and Awatukee, sits a little treasure most folks drive past without knowin’ they just missed a blessing.
Sweet Magnolia Smokehouse — a hidden gem if there ever was one.
Now, when you step inside, you don’t just meet cooks. You meet people. Real ones. Genuine ones. Folks who look you in the eye, smile from the heart, and treat you like you’ve been comin’ there since childhood. The kind of people Mississippi raises — solid, warm, proud of their craft.
And the guests? Honey, they’re part of the charm. You can tell they’re regulars by the way they talk about the food like it’s family. You hear laughter, you hear stories, you hear folks say things like, “You gotta try the greens,” with that knowing look that says they’re speakin’ truth.
Speaking of those greens — those collard greens have devotion. They’re the kind you think about on the drive home, the kind you plan tomorrow’s lunch around. They don’t just taste good; they taste like somebody cared.
And the barbecue? Lord have mercy.
When they’re outside workin’ that pit, smoke rollin’ like velvet, flavors settling into the meat like they were born there… that’s Mississippi right there. That’s heritage. That’s love made edible.
Sweet Magnolia Smokehouse is open seven days a week, 11 AM to 7 PM, but the spirit of the place? That’s open all the time. It’s alive in the air, in the people, in the stories, in the flavors that don’t just live — they sing.
This place deserves to be known.
And you’re right — you’re helpin’ them get there.
