  Love the concept. No frills all quality. Everything you could ever need. Service was great. Very helpful with questions about the rolls and fish. Gluten free friendly. Ube Cheesecake is a must.

  Went to pick up my order and as I was walking out they offered me a free sushi platter because someone hadn't picked it up. High quality people!

  Been doing takeaway from SF since the pandemic. It has NEVER disappointed- fresh, quality ingredients, friendly staff, and just such a gem for the slope. The Kiro Roll is hands down my favorite.

  This is hands down the BEST sushi! We order from Sushi Friend for our office at least a few times a month, and they never disappoint. The food quality is consistently amazing, everything is always fresh and delicious, and the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Our orders are always ready right on time, which makes it so easy for our office lunches and gatherings. The restaurant is also always clean and welcoming. You can tell they really care about the quality of their food and the experience they provide. We absolutely love Sushi Friend and highly recommend them!

  New to the area and was told that I had to come to this place. We were greeted on the way in, but that was the only positive. The first thing I noticed was the staff focused on watching a video on how to make different sushi rolls, completely ignoring us as we struggled to figure out how to order on their kiosk. Some recommendations would have been much appreciated, especially since I ended up passing on most of the menu.I also noticed an employee run by to grab a canned soda, take it back to their workstation, and continue drinking it right in the food prep area—which was a huge red flag for me. The workers were clearly more focused on each other and the video playing on the TV than on explaining how things work or representing the business professionally. It was very disappointing.We picked through some very overpriced, basic rolls. Let me tell you, the "special" rolls were not special at all; they were basic and lacked flavor and consistency for the price they are asking. To my immense disappointment, this is just another overhyped, disappointing "Instagram trend" restaurant to add to the list.I would also like to add that the miso soup was horribly disappointing. It is the one thing I thought couldn't be ruined anywhere, but it was. Please, just go to the grocery store and buy the 3-pack of instant miso soup; it has so much more flavor than the one shamelessly served to us on a rainy day. On top of that, they didn't have hot sake or any Asian beers to accompany our overpriced sushi. Instead, they upcharged small bottles of cold sake by triple the price, which felt disrespectful to the whole tradition of sharing a sushi meal.The entire experience was terrible, especially for a self-serve restaurant. It is priced as if there were a waiter there to explain the experience and serve you, but there was no face or character to the restaurant. It is just another fake picture on Instagram—a restaurant built only for followers and publicity. This was a great disappointment to Japanese traditions. My first & last here. Good luck guys, nothing can bring me back besides a whole 360 here w/ food safety codes to go with it.
