I visited Sonic, for the first time, in had not been to a Sonic since about 2004. They were far and few in SoCal. Although their burgers were good, their drinks had an aftertaste that I didn't like. Thus, it was not on my fast food list.
Since moving to Southern Arizona, the Mesa/Phoenix area, I see them everywhere. So, decided to try the one near me, on 19th Ave, off Hatcher, in Phoenix. In the early 2000s, I saw long car lines for Sonic- now, I may see six... It's really difficult to see the entire menu in the parking space. I was in theback seat and had to get out of the car to order. The person who tooktheorderwas ok, but didn't ask any questions about my ingredients or did I want condiments. My bag was 1/3 full of catsup and groovy fries sauce and I only ordered one Double Sonic Smash Burger combo. The fries were tasty, but greasy; the burger was small, but the meat was moist, but I didn't get any lettuce or sliced tomatos, but some diced tomato/onion mixture. The root beer had good flavor, but needed more carbonation.
