I typically visit this store for specific produce items that are advertised on sale, yet more often than not those items are out of stock when I arrive. While that is frustrating, what concerns me more is the overall customer service experience. During my most recent visit, employees were stocking shelves throughout the store. I waited several minutes in front of the cheese section, assuming the employee would be finished shortly. When I politely asked if I could quickly grab two items, the employee’s response and body language made it very clear that my request was an inconvenience. As a customer, I should not feel like I am bothering staff simply for trying to access products on the shelf. To be fair, there are a few employees at this location who are friendly and helpful. However, enough of my visits have involved poor customer interactions that I now expect to leave frustrated. I have family members who worked for Safeway for many years, and I know the company once placed a strong emphasis on customer service. Unfortunately, that standard does not seem to be consistently reflected at this location. I hope management will address both the recurring inventory issues and the customer service concerns, as they significantly impact the shopping experience.
