Stopped in yesterday for a sandwich and I’m so glad I did! Great location, friendly service, and such a welcoming atmosphere. I had my dog with me on the patio, and they were kind enough to bring the food right out to us which I really appreciated. The sandwich was delicious and the whole experience was super relaxing. Can’t wait to come back again!
Can’t speak higher of this hidden gem! It’s a shame Google doesn’t show these guys unless you physically search for them otherwise I’d like to think I would have found them sooner. Their food is AMAZING… the quality of the meats and the flavor are fantastic. I started with the turkey sandwich with the intent to keep returning and try it all after their extremely knowledgeable general manager gave us a run through of all their locally sourced food. After eating the turkey sandwich, I can’t help but keep getting it over and over when I come back! Looking forward to trying their breakfast but so far very impressed with this place! Keep up the great work!

If you are looking for a hidden gem in North Phoenix that combines incredible food with a heart-centered atmosphere, Deli 8:20 on 7th Street and Thunderbird is the place to be. From the moment you walk in, you feel like family. This Christian-based, family-owned restaurant truly lives out its values through some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. The staff is genuinely friendly, attentive, and they make sure every guest feels right at home.
The Food: Fresh & Flavorful
The menu is a standout, primarily because they prioritize fresh meats and high-quality ingredients. You can taste the difference in their house-smoked options.
The Massive Pastrami: A must-try! It’s piled high with homemade pastrami and topped with their signature "awe-sam" sauce on grilled marble rye.
Sunshine Turkey: If you want something unique, this sandwich features house-smoked turkey, brie, and blackberry preserves on a ciabatta bun—it’s the perfect balance of savory and sweet.
Batchelor Burger: Their brisket patty is incredibly juicy and easily one of the best burgers in the valley.
The Atmosphere: Indoor & Outdoor Comfort
Whether you want to enjoy the beautiful Arizona weather or catch a game, the layout is perfect.
Outdoor Patio: They have a lovely, clean outdoor seating area that is great for a relaxed lunch.
Indoor Dining: The interior is cozy and modern. There are TVs strategically placed, making it a great spot to watch the game while diving into a bowl of their Southwest Macaroni Salad or their famous banana pudding.
Why I Highly Recommend It
It is rare to find a place that balances such high-quality deli standards with a warm, community-focused vibe. Whether you are grabbing a quick breakfast burrito (the Brisket & Green Chili one is life-changing) or bringing the whole family for lunch, you’ll leave with a full stomach and a smile. Support this local business—you won't regret it!
Location: 13216 N 7th St #B2, Phoenix, AZ 85022
Note: They are closed on Thursdays, so plan your visit accordingly!
Did I forget they have a great food truck if you want to plan an outing for family or your job.

I really wanted to love this place, given A) a glowing review on Next Door, and B) the adorable, sparkling clean patio and dining room. I also understand growing pains with new businesses, especially independent ones, and I sincerely hope this place will thrive after improvements are made. (A manager/owner replied to another review that he/she wanted constructive criticism to "learn and grow"-- big props for that!)... The menu is on the small side, but the recipes have unique ingredients which I'm all for. I ordered online, an old fave, the "massive pastrami" sandwich, which looked towering on the website but was in fact very skimpy and flat, not warranting the $19 price. Cheese was another $2, and the only options on the website were pepperjack, gouda and chedder (though the menu board at the restauraunt also showed swiss and brie). Settled for pepperjack, which was overly spicy, combined with the southwestern sourkraut which was pulpy and had a funky, spicy aftertaste as well. I took off the toppings, and learned that sadly, the meat itself was gristly, dry and chewy. The southwestern mac salad I also ordered was not spicy, just very bland. Finally, I had to wait for the chef to make my order because a Doordash driver evidently swiped the original from the to-go counter. The server was very apologetic, and I don't blame him for the mixup, but would recommend a better system, like a separate Doordash area, to avoid this happening in the future.

First visit today for lunch. Only a few menu items so thought they must have perfected these! One soda, the pastrami and their take on the Cubano, $41.xx. No sides- 2 sandwiches and one soda. Sandwiches were good at first bite.however, both were burnt on the inside. The bread and meat- meat so burnt that I couldn’t distinguish what meat I was eating- I knew my sandwich was pastrami but tasting it so burned it could have been chicken, beef? The bread was soggy. Since it’s not full service, they don’t come back to check on you and my lunch companion was embarrassed and offered to switch sandwiches and his was just as bad. I could have asked for a remake but as we were the only ones there when walked in, so I didn’t seem like they were too busy to notice, why would they serve a $19 sandwich (again no side) that was less than par? I left hungry and blew my eating out allowance. Maybe serve better food out of the kitchen, check in patrons and consider the prices for what you are selling? Even if it wasn’t so burnt, I think the portion sizes do not warrant the high prices (meal prices to single sandwich prices). They are better and more competitive choices in Moon Valley so I hope these folks can work on some things to be better. I do wish them well, but also feel slightly cheated out my money.
