I went to the customer service desk to return two items but couldn’t locate my receipt. I politely asked if they could look up the purchase using my Safeway rewards account, phone number, or the credit card I used to make the purchase. Instead of trying to help, I felt like I was being treated with suspicion for simply requesting a return. I even asked if they could make a courtesy exception or provide store credit, but my request was denied. I also asked to speak with a manager and was told one was unavailable. As a loyal customer who spends a significant amount of money at this store, I found the experience frustrating and discouraging. I understand stores have policies, but customer service and professionalism matter. I left feeling embarrassed, unappreciated, and disappointed by the lack of effort to help resolve a simple issue. I expect better treatment from a store I regularly support.
